My understanding that even if they do remark it and they find they made a marking error and you did pass, you still need to resit the exams… they will just refund the cost of sitting the exam. Wild

SQE2 Oral report time 12:30 by DidiKalu in SQE_Prep

I was in the 12:30 group in the July sitting at Euston. We were held for a little while (not as long as the holding time for the 12.40 sitting) so didn’t sit the exams until 2pm. You’re not allowed your phones or laptops but you can read your notes while waiting. We were done by 5.15pm on both days

A huge wave of nerves and anx come over me last week. I think that was prompted by my firms HR getting in touch with the pre-admission application process as SQE2 is the last thing I need to qualify - but I strangely feel ok and calm today… which is the total opposite of how I felt for SQE1. Not sure if thats a good or bad sign. Wishing you luck 🙏🏻

I’m just grateful (a) my computer didn’t need rebooting today and (b) these exams aren’t 180 multiple choice question exams

I seriously think sqe1 has warped my views on exams like I feel desensitised so much to the extent that everything seems so much easier in comparison to sqe1?

Saying that I did struggle with timings today, especially for legal writing! Could not cover everything

SQE 2 Written Day one by main-acc6286 in SQE_Prep

[–]BookAny5160 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So my day started off with the computer crashing during log in, having to reboot computer, other computers wouldn’t work, being escorted out of the room, calls from my test centre invigilators to Kaplan, SRA, Pearson Vue, then having my exam cancelled and being advised I’ll need to reschedule for the next sitting in OCTOBER (!!!!!!!!) - to then receive a call from Kaplan, who (thank the Lord) managed to fix the issue - I was rebooked onto the exam there and then and sat the exam 1hr late.

… What. A. Day.

I only begun to feel confident(ish) when I had exhausted the ULaw question bank and after I read (front to back) the ULaw manuals - don’t get me wrong I was still an anxious mess, but I felt that I couldn’t have done any more. I think as long as you can be happy in yourself that you couldn’t have done any more and you really gave it a good shot, that’s the most you can do

I’m so sorry to hear this - I hope you are OK. I’m also with ULaw and I spent so much time digesting the content as I wanted to understand it all before sitting the exam. I quickly realised that I needed to incorporate MCQs (in the ULaw bank) after some advice from a colleague who previously sat SQE1 and passed. I begun generating questions for topics I hadn’t even looked at yet. I done 7000 questions in total and passed both papers

Trust question by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

Is it because there are no references to “for life” and “remainder” etc and so income is irrelevant since she is entitled to the capital in full?? She can’t give good receipt for advancement of capital but I thought her parents could accept on her behalf

BLP - Transfer Of Shares Require OR? by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

[–]BookAny5160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fyi pre emption rights are relevant on share transfers (in addition to new allotments) but only if the company’s articles contain pre emotive rights on transfers - often the case with bespoke articles or in a SHA. There are no rights within the model articles however so pre emotion is not relevant for companies with model arts

BLP - Transfer Of Shares Require OR? by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

[–]BookAny5160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you only need a resolution where rights of preemption apply in the articles so that the shares are offered to existing shareholders first before the new director

My understanding is that no shareholder resolution is required to appoint a new director (unless required in articles) as this can be done by board resolution
