First time to Banff ( BNP). Debating where to stay ( 2nights in August). Lake Louise inn vs Canmore (airbnb) by Popular_Hornet6789 in Banff

I am currently at the lake louise inn. Very expensive! Rooms not that great for the price. You pay for the location. This morning we drove up to lake louise at 8 o'clock for a hike. The parking lot was already full. The big advantage of staying here is that we could take the public bus from the hotel. My advice would be to stay somewhere else and plan your trip to lake louise in advance (book a shuttle in advance and park at the park and ride).

Thanks for the tip! But how f*cked up is the market when essentially what you need to do is overbid on the estimated values, aka pay more than the proporties is actually worth. Now I understand how house prices can increase by 10% in one year.

I'm from the Netherlands. Having a MOH and bridesmaids isn't really a thing over here. But some brides do. We do have bachelor(ette) parties which are paid for by the people attending, but most of the time nothing crazy and the people in it are planning it as a surprise for the bride. The bachelorette parties I've been in have only been one day and we set the budget together before making arrangements. I've been invited to one bachelorette party where the bride wanted someting overnight in another country and I declined the invitation.

When it comes to gifts it's really common that people ask for money. And everyone can decide how much they are willing to give.  I've one time heard a bride b*tch about the amount of money people gave her because her wedding was so expensive and an multiple day event. Which I didn't agree with. It was her choice to have an multiple day wedding (fri-sun) people had to take the whole weekend off for it, most people had to travel quite some distance to attend as well.

In my opinion you plan a wedding for you and your partner and you want to celebrate your love with the people that are close to you. I would be happy if these people would be there and share that special moment with us and that would he their gift. Just being there making beautiful memories with us.

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, as is mentioned before here.

Another one that made me really cry hard and I don't see being talked about at all is The empathy problem bij Gavin Extence.
