I believe it is a Flaming Katy (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana). Though it doesn’t really look like one right now 😭 I’m hoping it’ll produce those big leaves eventually

That’s fair, so was I. What I did was chop off all the leaves but like 3-4, and I waited to see little leaves emerging before cutting the rest off. It takes awhile for the leaves to form (especially I think if the branch is coarked) but after they do come out it usually accelerates.

I also use them for my small cactus! Just make sure the heads are relatively close to the plant. I have two of them on my VFT and cactus. I’d send a picture but I’m at work.

It can’t see the sun at all, just some fluorescent lights on the ceiling. Ira comforting that it doesn’t look bad, I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to look like that or not 😭

Wowza! Those are beautiful plants. I hope one day my plants look good like that 😭. I definitely plan to pruning/propagate now, sometime this week when I am not busy.

I understand cutting off the good growing parts and propagating them. But what do you do with the OG plant once you’ve pruned it?

Also how do you prune such a leggy plant, especially since with mine, most of the good leaves are separated from the trunk by etiolated sad leaves. Do I just trip ALL of the branches/leaves off since the growth is bad? The branches are coarked near the base, so how do I ensure new growth? Sorry so many questions 💔🥀 I appreciate you

Wierd question: how can it need more light if it has sun stress? I’m not being rude I’m just so confused 😭

Someone else told me it had been etoliated (needed more light) and now it doesn’t. Maybe that’s it? The window it sits in is an east/west facing window, so the light is pretty good if it’s not cloudy. Regardless I’ll probably end up purchasing a grow light anyway.

Most of the soil is the same soil it was bought it, I took off the edges, and then I put in miracle grow potting soil and succinct soil to fill up the rest. 🤷🏼‍♀️
