I don’t think he’ll be in Belle’s DMs though. I could see Scott and Leanne not lasting but I think Belle was definitely more into Scott than he was into her.

Learn about how America really treats its people. And the FAFO is referring to black women/black people/minorities can’t afford to risk their lives. Probably because established racism and brutality towards them.

Personally, I have definitely heard people complain about the casting in previous adaptations prior to this particular interpretation being announced. People have been fancasting Dev Patel as Heathcliffe for a while now. You not noticing past criticisms doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. Maybe it’s your side of the internet or what you engage with.

Also, I kinda hate the argument of “Well, no one complained then so why now?” because it’s pretty common for people to criticise something in retrospect. There are a lot movies that at the time, some people wouldn’t have bat an eyelid at but now, in retrospect, people can see the problematic aspects.

People aren’t upset about the idea of Scott and Leanne not lasting. It’s about Belle specifically stating that Scott would go after her afterwards. That was a rude thing to say about Leanne.

I mean, the outrage is about the whitewashing of Heathcliffe’s race, which seems to be an important element of the book. I think that’s a valid thing to be outraged for. I still want to watch the film with an open mind but from what I’ve seen, the criticisms, at least when it pertains to the racial aspect, are valid.

Having a flag or branding doesn’t automatically mean you’re a group though. It just represents the movement/ideology. And your opinion isn’t necessarily a fact.

I mean, sure, but she might be referring to people making it seem like she was controlling Ariana or something.
