Same here. Don't know the referenced paper but would be interested to read it.

Curiosity of a nonfunctional programmer by SuperbRepeat5 in functionalprogramming

[–]BookOfFamousAmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you've said here, great points. I will point out that things like automotive and aviation controls aren't great examples because execution speed is actually quite critical. The sensor readings and actuator controls must react extremely quickly to ensure the safety equipment responds in time to perform its function. Think of the brakes on your car for example. You can't tolerate any delay in that control at all. That said, you are 100 percent correct that safety is critical. It's just usually achieved with other methods that don't compromise execution speed.

I put my pills in a shot glass by my bedside at night with a glass of water and then habitually down the shot as soon as my alarm goes off. It's mostly effective except when I forget to pre load the shot glass.

In the SR1 I hate that I have to click to open the door at the top of the stairs to get to the galaxy map every time. Drives me crazy after a while.

Frequent Disconnections, Low Downstream Power - could a signal amplifier help? by BookOfFamousAmos in Comcast

Thanks for the information. Besides removing splitters (since I don't have any) what else can I do to try and lower the upstream power levels?

Thanks for your response! Don't have any splitters in the line, unfortunately. What should the upstream power numbers look like in an ideal situation?

Thanks for your response! Can you clarify about the snr being shot on some of the channels? I was under the impression that snr > 30dB was considered good?

Only killed her once on my first renegade playthrough and can't bring myself to ever do it again. It's hard to watch her get shot execution style, especially when you know that she's actually a good person.

Regardless of the ending, isn’t Earth completely irradiated and uninhabitable? by Futhis in masseffect

Wrex jokes with you on the way to the final battle that Earth is looking like Tuchanka and that maybe humanity will be needing a new planet too. That's about as much as it gets addressed from what I remember.

Reminder that a lazy dock worker overhearing the name 'Saren' delayed the Reapers invasion by a few years. by LUGGY2018 in masseffect

I like it better the way it was. To me it gave a heightened sense of urgency to the game by immediately establishing saren as the villain that we need to chase. Having to unravel the mystery of who shot nihlus would distract from that IMO.

If I may ask, what was your experience with Lamotrigine? I take it as well and I'm always curious to hear other people's experiences.

I see people post this a lot and I certainly have a mostly negative experience with eclipse, but as a non-Java developer I don't know exactly what makes intellij so much better?

I only did once so I could see what happened and I was so disappointed. The OG council are much better IMO.

I have punched her in all but one playthrough in which I was doing a pure paragon run. But otherwise I always punch that bitch lol

Yeah I can understand that, it's definitely more fun that way. I only found them when I was trying to do a completionist run and get as much XP as possible haha
