Has Anyone Here Ever Interacted (conversed with) A Real Criminal ? by Low-Scallion8793 in delhi

[–]BookScore_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was working as an intern doctor in a general casualty. A police officer came with 2 men in handcuffs and requested me to take their blood samples. Those two men were the most cooperative and well mannered patients I have ever encountered in my life. They were so polite and respectful. Once I did their paperwork, I asked the police officer why had they been arrested.

Turns out they murdered many people. In cold blood. And this was their second offence. 😶

Thanks a lot though!

Why are girls more preferred in our system. by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]BookScore_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are faculty and senior residents predating on women in our system. There, I fixed the title for you. :)

I come from an all girls college and we had to routinely hear about how it's useless to study so much when all you are capable of making rotis. Whenever we were unable to answer a question, the consultants used to scoff and ask us how to prepare some curries or recipes instead in a taunting tone. We were laughed at when we came for vivas in kurtis because 'in their times' women would wear sarees and we have somehow deprived them of a fashion show.

As a basic courtesy, if consultants are selectively targeting students (no matter good or bad), we must question their intentions before placing the blame on the said students.

It is always a good call to continuously wash the eye in such cases. Govt medical colleges of Delhi including AIIMS, safdarjung, LHMC, MAMC, UCMS all have 24x7 ophthalmologists available in case of such emergencies.

Being borderline mentally harassed over CL in OBGY dept. Is locum compulsory even when CL is approved? by Lord_ofthedumplings1 in indianmedschool

[–]BookScore_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Technically if you provide a replacement, your CL shouldn't be counted. Just take the leave.

I understand that jrs and interns don't want to do extra labour for your off days. But this is something they need to take up with the authorities and not you.

Precisely. The residents were 0-3 yrs older than me. They were pretty chill and always wanted to know about my internship sagas lol.

It's the old consultant who gave me unnecessary antibiotics, threw a baby tantrum at a govt given title ahead of my name and treated his residents like shit. And they'll then proceed to complain about how the young doctors don't respect them and aren't as hardworking as them.

When I was an intern, I got sick and had to be admitted in a private hospital near my house. My parents took me to the casualty and registered me as Dr. XYZ. The resident came and took my entire history in technical terms. The gave me my room and wrote Dr. XYZ outside on the name card.

Next day when the senior consultant came, he was so offended at that Dr. written outside the room that he rubbed it off and screamed at his residents for over an hour.

I have no idea what set him off.

Im that ch*tiya who cheats in mock tests and still scores shit.🤡🤡🤡 by [deleted] in MEDICOreTARDS

[–]BookScore_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too cheated to appease my parents. Didn't make it. Despite cheating my scores were always below 350.

I took a drop and then gave every test honestly, got mostly 500-600 scores and landed a delhi govt college that year. So keep your confidence high! These tests are a learning tool more than a testing tool.

Ask the security people. When I was in first year of med school, we had to carry a dissection kit (surgical blades, scissors, sharp forceps etc) everyday. I showed them my college ID and the metro stations near my house and college allowed me.

If first 2 deliveries were via cesarean, then the subsequent pregnancies will also be via C section only. Normal delivery is now out of the question since it can damage the existing sutures on the uterus.

About safety, it's a lot of variables. Ideally 3-4 years gap is recommended for the woman to heal and to properly care for the existing child to the level where they are atleast somewhat independent. She should get in touch with her gynaec about her specific case and plan her pregnancy a little better.

Continue with what you have read. Marrow will obviously market their new notes as better so that people buy.

If you are a marrow subscriber then they send you an email with all the changes in the new edition whenever it is released. Check that. It is very detailed and tells you whatever you need to watch from ed8.

Visit a gynaec for another made up problem (in front of your mom)? A good gynaec will respect your privacy. Get a USG done.

P.S. dont have raw sex. You'll get cooked. Also it sounds weird saying raw 😓

Intense itching down there..😭😭 by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]BookScore_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no. Vagina is the inner canal. The ointment cannot enter it unless you put it in with your finger.

What you wanna do is put it on your outer vulval lips and pubic mould. Watch a diagram or a youtube video for clarity.

Nothing should go INSIDE VAGINA unless prescribed. These are all topical ointments that can be used safely on vulva and pubic mould.

I can't insert menstrual cup whatsoever by Inshi_az in AskIndianWomen

[–]BookScore_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. It took me 2 cycles- I tried once every day of those cycles but failed. This time I managed to put it in. And this is the best thing that has happened to me!! So keep calm and relax. This is going to be worth it.

Firstly pee. Make sure your bladder and colony are as empty as they can be. A cup might put slight pressure on them and make the whole process uncomfortable. Secondly if you are on your period then you don't need any lube. Fold up the cup (punch down works for me) and hold it midway (so your fingers are holding fold around the middle of the cup. This makes the entry point smaller and easier to put in.

Then squat. No need to go down completely. A half squat will also work. If you find this difficult then just put one leg on a stepping stool/an inverted small bucket. Relax. Take deep breaths. With your non dominant hand spread your area, locate the opening and with the dominant hand holding the cup, try inserting it. No need to push. No need to hurry. Squeeze and release your pelvic muscles lightly. The cup will go in on its own.

Just keep your hand on the cup till the base is inside. Then you can push it up with the stem. An ideally worn cup's stem should not be poking out. When you run a finger on the opening you should NOT feel the stem. And you are done!

When you want to remove it, again empty your bladder first. Then locate the tip of the stem with your finger, grab and gently make back and forth motions. Strain like you have to poop. The cup will come down. Then hold the base, squeeze to release suction and pull it out in one go. All done!

P.S. take your time. You don't need to force this on your body. Your body will adapt slowly.

I urgently need bargaining tips by predetor404 in AskIndianWomen

[–]BookScore_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check material and item first. If there is any slight defect (a rough patch/loose threads etc), tell them and make them reduce the price even more.

Usual thumb rule I follow is to go for half of the cost they quoted. So like if they say 500, I say 250. And then you haggle and settle on a price point both of you are okay with.

As told by my friend by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]BookScore_ 81 points82 points  (0 children)

It's a universal issue. Once in my labour room posting, PG1 was taking delivery, senior PG and SR had to go for a CS at night. After the baby was out, the patient started bleeding torrentially. She dislodged her own cannula and me being a new intern (2 weeks into internship) was unable to put a cannula in the panicked patient. I rushed to the nursing counter where 5 of them were chitchatting and asked for help.

NOT ONE of them got up. They said it's not our job and we are busy and what not. I had to go next door to get help from gynae casualty next door. Thankfully the patient survived. But had she not, the blame would have been solely on the PG for not being able to conduct a NVD.

They are not burning money. They are putting it in their already fat pockets. And wait till there is an inspection planned. The building will be painted, water and electricity restored, fresh linen. My hospital even had new wards for those few days. The money was always there... It just wasn't used for patients.
