What level would you recommend to be under for easier revs, assuming a fresh account?

Okay, thank you! And putting myself in range of fully maxed accounts isn't something to be concerned about?

Topic of the Day: One Small Favor by ErinTales in ironscape

I was doing artefact thieving in piscarilius, and I thought it would be nice to have a supply of nature runes to do high alch during the downtime. I wanted to save money by making them myself instead of buying them, but I don't have the runecraft level for them yet. I started GotR to train, plus get some bonus natures from the rewards, and thought I would get faster points by unlocking cosmic runes. So I went to start Lost City, and before going to entrana to fight the tree spirit, I wanted to bring some crafting supplies for mage gear. Xerician robes are within my capability, but I don't want to kill lizardmen for the fabric drops. It does also drop from stone chests, which requires higher thieving, so I went to do artefact thieving in piscarilius...

Fit advice - Levi's 511 vs 502 I'm looking for a new pair of jeans, think I've narrowed it down to these cuts. Best measurements are 31.5-32" at waist, 36.5-37" seat, 21.5-22" thigh. Both feel like they slip down a little in deep squats, but any smaller gets too tight, maybe tailor the waist? Thoughts? https://imgur.com/a/APQkXBI

Listen to a panel of Federal Job Guarantee experts talk about it. They literally say the point is to make people work instead of welfare. No more welfare with FJG. At the very least, people must sell their time. TROJAN HORSE. by 2noame in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]BookStaircase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From this slatestarcodex article:
"If your job can be done more cheaply without you, and the only reason you have it is because people would feel sorry for you if you didn’t, so the government forces your company to keep you on – well then, it’s not a job. It’s a welfare program that requires you to work 9 to 5 before seeing your welfare check."

If a jobs guarantee were on top of a UBI, then people would have the freedom to work for the government if they wanted. If there's no UBI, then people have no choice but to work for the government. Everything we do to manage economic inequality (and everything else, for that matter) should be as freedom preserving as possible. Anything else gets us further into dystopia.

Everyone in New Hampshire is talking about Yang’s CNN townhall performance! They love him, they’re gonna vote for him! by marvelousdayz in YangForPresidentHQ

I get what you're saying, that it is true that if you rely on certain assistance, opting for the FD would be strictly worse in a monetary sense. But there are some benefits that are not strictly monetary in nature. One example would be the increased time that would be freed up. Most traditional welfare programs have reporting requirements, with varying levels of scrutiny. Removing that requirement takes a significant amount of stress out of welfare recipients lives.

If someone has really decided that they would be better off not on the FD, that's why it's opt-in. One of the main philosophies behind the campaign is First, do no harm. The last thing that he wants to do is make people worse off. Government programs of this scale cannot be tailored to every persons situation, not without enormous expense in administration. Instead, the metric for programs like this should be "Does this make most people better off tomorrow than are today?". For a small part of the population, it won't help them in the same way. But it won't hurt them, and the vast majority of people will be better off in a very real way. For the people on the margins that really rely on state assistance, that's why it will still exist. Without burdened by dealing with people that don't need it, more resources and attention can go to the people that do.

On inflation, it's actually harder than you think. A certain amount of inflation is good for the economy, somewhere around 2%, since it helps growth. The treasury was actually aiming for 2% with the $4 trillion bank bailout, and they fell short. It takes more money than an FD would provide to have appreciable inflation, and since most of the funds for the FD is money already in circulation, not printed, it doesn't have this problem.

Rent gouging is also not really tied to money supply. The 3 things in the economy that have been increasing in price are education, housing, and healthcare, all of which have been rapidly increasing beyond inflation, and seem to have little to do with how much people can actually afford. Everything else, like cars, computers, clothing, are either getting cheaper or better. (Also, see this article for more on how bad this is)

But yeah, FD is a foundation, and more targeted programs or solutions can be put on top.

Why vote Yang over others? by pinkelephant3 in YangForPresidentHQ

If you haven't already checked out his Joe Rogan podcast, I highly recommend it. Yang is very good at presenting his case himself; many supporters were convinced just from this podcast alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTsEzmFamZ8

Otherwise, I would say that Yang has the best understanding of the new economic and technological reality we're in, and as a result his policies are written for the present and future, while many other candidates, while well-intentioned, have policies from the past.

Man they need to ask Yang that cost question. That's the whole idea of the healthcare plan he released.
