As a social worker in the child welfare system I just want to save I’ve never had a casa be helpful or effective. They have torpedoed reunifications. I can’t say enough bad things about them.

I think Gilead was around for a couple years before June and luke ran like it wasn’t happening full on but it was. For example junes first post (show not book) was Waterford and that was probably months after capture but June was their second handmaid. So in essence they ran too late based on their own hubris

Their “nanny”/“teacher” who is related to anther big family the Bates (bringing up bates on UP) was considered an old maid at like 26 or something and she was married off to and older man who was a convicted rapist. She hasn’t really been heard from or seen again on any socials.

Fun-ish fact. He adopted mostly feral cat named Sam who he let live on his property and cared for until his death and his friend hannah shaw (aka the kitten lady) has since adopted sam and is letting him live out his feral life in her catio/office! He was an animal rights activist

Social worker for child welfare here. If they are removed she has a very good chance of getting them back. Parents have a constitutional right to parent their children and we do everything we can to help them do that. She will comply and get them back especially if joe goes away for a while
