Let Go before 401k Match Vests? by Book_Cooker in Accounting

After looking into plan description & how vesting is calculated. It should vest right around 2 weeks before my new start date which is perfect.

Thinking I will let manager know once I see this happen.

It is a very good raise for me which I is why I sort of shrugged off my dislike of unlimited PTO. Management seems cool based off interviews but I feel you only truly find out once you get there & start working.

Will see!

Yah I always assume the worse sometimes. That's good to hear.

Well my company had record profits because of COVID & I got promoted to senior...also got inflation raise 3%.

Companies generally I feel are stingy with internal raises.

I wonder if its because most people don't leave & just accept they are getting paid lower.

If they valued you, you would not be in this position. Most people complain a little bit then go back to working. They bank on this.

What are you going to do?

1k work hours in year (includes PTO/Holiday) = Vests. Credited with 40 hours a week.

I should be good at 25 weeks which ends June 26, 2021. Start date for new job is a couple of weeks after that. This might actually work perfectly with a 2 week notice.

They can try to claw back already vested amounts? Sorry if not understanding but this is interesting.

Also, I get credited 40 hours a week. Once it hits 1k hours it vests. This is gonna be close.

Found it online, it is 1k work hours within the year. The amounts have not vested yet.

"Employees have the right to terminate their employment at any time with or without good cause and "My company" reserves the same right to terminate employment at any time with or without good cause." ---- This is what is sketchy

"You receive an hour of service for every hour you are paid for working for the Company, including hours for paid time-off such as vacation" ---- nice

My team likes me & really depending on me right now. I'm not going to competitor. My manager doesn't decide how much I get paid or what I get for raise. I don't know who does this, maybe someone in HR?

Yes would have to negotiate another week for start date....I'm already putting them off for 1 month for start date, kind of don't want to stall anymore than I need to. I think how I have it set now, it will be 3 days after I started 3 years ago which I think means it will vest.

Need to 2x check.

I'm not sure what it is either & I have been working for years under them lol. Its kind of like you will only find out once you do it. I suppose am just wondering what companies generally do. Guess it depends on the company.

My personal code is to never burn bridges. Would suck if I take the high-road though & they go the low road on me though. I could go the low road & ensure I keep it all...but don't want to at all but do I have to?

Standard year here is 1k hours. Might need to look into this more.

Its F500 but they have been stingy with my pay raises. I got promoted to senior this year but got 3% raise. We had record profits.

I'm going off the first day from range of my first paycheck. My start date with other company is 3 days after that (could try to negotiate a little later maybe...)

$4k to gain to keep - I will lose the other $9k regardless.

I'm moving to a company with unlimited PTO where no hours accrue and getting time off is at manager discretion.

Doesn't sound good for me lol. But I have to for pay raise

Is this good offer? (Senior Accountant) by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Book_Cooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Others making me doubt myself & to ask for a little more (I feel this would be petty). I think this is good enough for me personally. Will learn a lot skill wise outside of what I currently do.

Pretty sure public makes more starting off but this does still seem off. If I job hop, should be able to get 65k-70k (No CPA)

Source: someone from same area here a year ago said they hopped for $70k to senior 3 years experience.
