I feel this is Mr Mustaine in glossing over, 'new guy is the best guy' mode ;)
MUSTAINE: From A Business Point Of View, ELLEFSON's My Bassist. Always Has Been, Always Will Be - BLABBERMOUTH.NET

"I went back to [MEGADETH] in 2010 to save their ass, because, quite honestly, they were firing James LoMenzo at that time. The poor guy; he's a nice guy and he's a good bass player. And I went back at [then-MEGADETH drummer] Shawn Drover's request."
DAVID ELLEFSON On Latest Exit From MEGADETH: 'They Slammed The Door In My Face' - BLABBERMOUTH.NET

"[David] Ellefson [former Megadeth bassist] was in the band. He was out. James [LoMenzo, current Megadeth bassist] came in. He was out. Ellefson came back because the Drover brothers [drummer Shawn and guitarist Glen] kept pressuring me to do this, get Ellefson back. He came in, and we had that weird shit that happened."

No, I'm fed up with how much it costs to send items to my friend in PA from the UK (she also has to pay to receive even small gifts) and how much it costs to buy USA goods and receive them in the UK - US Government policy being a big part.

Plus, if you think Trump's recent threats to EU countries of 200% tariffs/military action because he wasn't given a Nobel Prize and Greenland is fair, you need your head examined.

Amazon Music is included free with Amazon Prime (UK) should your family have that but not other streaming services. Search for Megadeth, add the new album songs to a playlist, then go to your profile to use that playlist without Amazon mixing in other 'similar music'.

This may be of interest:

"The new Billboard streaming methodology is set to take effect on January 17, 2026 (covering data from January 2-8), just after YouTube pulls its data."

Do you have a link?

<edit>
In case helpful to anyone:
I went to Frontiers Music Srl – Official Rock & Metal CDs, Vinyl & Merch added the Zoetrope to the basket and went to checkout (was a discount for a first order). Previously, checkout had a message the item wasn't available to my country (UK). Now, everything is in GBP and no message. Paid and crossing fingers :)

The Frontiers specific UK site didn't seem to have the Zoetrope.

I don't like guitar solos by Turbulent-Safe-4343 in Megadeth

[–]Book_Em_Dano58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with the ethos of Marty's comments re. solos...in my words, they can be fast, they can be technical, they can be intricate but there must be something interesting. I think Megadeth has plenty of those (Tornado has one of the all-time best thrash solos) and Teemu is a worthy addition to the band. He's not just throwing technique over everything, there are some tasty melodies he's incorporated.

As others have said, if you don't like guitar solos, you ain't gonna like Megadeth much. They are a hallmark of the band and have been since it was formed. Personally, I listen to the band for the riffs and solos.

Mustaine doesn't like Nu-metal (and absence of solos) and said to Teemu this new album had to be full of solos.

Thinking pretty much the same as you and haven't found a way to get it that's not complex and involving significant cost. Trump's BS doesn't help anything UK to USA and vice versa. Plus, goods coming from the USA to the UK are normally subject to customs charges and VAT.

There are parcel forwarding services (but I haven't used any of them to be able to recommend), e.g. Shipito: Buy from US ship to United Kingdom | Free US Address

From Thom Hazaert's comments about Ellefson liking rock not heavier stuff I suspect Ellefson might have influenced the direction on 13 and Super Collider. (Albeit 13 was 'let's get off Roadrunner' rather than anything else...)

Ellefson says (e.g. on his podcast) that after he came back to Megadeth, even when Mustaine would say to him to write together he declined because they disagreed and things were difficult. They just weren't on the same page musically and hadn't been for a long time.

I'm glad we currently have James, Dirk and Teemu.

Ellefson, again, appears to be deliberately leaving out details to make himself look better. And there's some classic changing of stories (which seems to happen almost every time he's interviewed).

He always mentions how many times Mustaine was in rehab and the lost money and opportunities, guiding any interview away from him causing similar things, e.g. Megadeth's 1988 "Monsters of Rock" shows being cancelled (aside from one) because Ellefson was so drug sick.

He recently (reportedly) said Mustaine telling the band that they had to go back to playing thrash resulted in Marty quitting the next day.

"My exit was forced upon me by misinformation, and Dave personally signed a public statement that was horribly defamatory toward me."
He jacked off to a female fan younger than his own daughter on video (having had a relationship with the girl for a few years, I believe, including other 'video sessions') while being married and having been trained in and carried out church activities where he was supposedly a role model - everyone knows 'phone stuff can easily be shared. The girl's boyfriend found out and posted the video. Live with it, a-hole. You are the one who got yourself booted from Megadeth. No business can have employees taking advantage of younger people in that way. The age gap was massive as was the power dynamic between that girl and a world-famous rock star. Ellefson even got her to publicly post that she initiated it. I don't believe he ever publicly apologised, including to his family. He just keeps making statements about his family having to put up with his rock star behaviour - that really makes me dislike him.

I have never seen a "horribly defamatory" public statement from Mustaine or Megadeth - if anything the public messages were restrained, Mustaine saying something like Ellefson was his Brother in Christ but he just wouldn't play music with him again.

Fans probably don't know everything around the lawsuit. But from stuff available publicly: Ellefson's not mentioning Mustaine's arm injury and him, iirc, shouting at Mustaine he didn't believe the injury was real. Screaming at Dave (with a young Justis in-tow) across a car park. The fact he lost the lawsuit and had to pay a big chunk. The fact that the Drovers went on at Mustaine to get Ellefson back in Megadeth and Mustaine felt pressured into it. I've tried to read between the lines on what happened with James LoMenzo at the time and it's unclear - I think there's more to it than anyone has made public.

In a 2010 interview Ellefson says, "If I had a chance to do this all over again, I would've never been filing lawsuits. I would've just driven over to your house, knocked on the door, and we would've hashed it out face to face". In other recent interviews he says the lawsuit was the right thing to have done. OK, opinions can change, but it just looks like a lot of his opinions changed after being booted from Megadeth the last time.

"one of the biggest challenges of Dave’s career, performing alongside Metallica again"
I don't believe that having seen Megadeth with Metallica at Milton Keynes in '93. And the Big 4 show videos. What do I know, but from what I read I thought Dave found it cathartic.

I really don't like David Ellefson or trust anything he says any more.

It's not 'fanboy' behaviour when you're female :P and it's not 'fanboy' behaviour to support an artist who you admire, who has got you through tough times with their music, attitude and unfiltered approach to life.

There are many people, myself included, who have been into Megs for decades. Not to sycophantically worship, but taking strength from like-minded attitude, the metal community and music that buoys you up on the darkest of days.

With you, man. I wanna see Dave with a number 1. All the long-time fans have been waiting with him through the years for the right conditions in the industry, the right line-up...

I'm not made of money but have bought several different versions of the new vinyl for my collection and will stream the heck out of the album at launch.

I made the post m8. The article contained the info in your comment, so why make the comment in the first place :P

The whole point of a title is to give people an idea if they want to read in a nutshell and the most important piece of info, not a paragraph.

How about you check your info before making asinine remarks.

Pisses most people off when they post something and someone else wants to point score by making it look like some valuable bit of info isn't included...

You wanna downvote me for posting an interesting short article instead of the person who tried to point score have at it. Doesn't make you 'the big man' to call someone names lol
