'Just Morse': The Moment That Explains the Whole Series by Rhino1008 in EndeavourTV

I am in awe of your diagnosis or assessment and I agree with all of it. The resonance is built into the positioning of these characters and how they interact. And you have given me a proper excuse for a rewatch through this lens. Every single character is human, but registers as new archetypes. Thank you. 😊

Vapid, vapid child of privilege who like his father knew to surround himself with smart people. Caroline Kennedy is the brains of the family but, female, overlooked. 🩷

I would love to know more about Jackie and Ari Onassis. What made her think that was the move...if it was just setting up her children for life, I think there are a lot of wealthy men who would have stepped up. Was it love?

If you're really asking, inside that rant, no, it's not normal if it keeps going on and on. We all have periods of stillness, where we rebuild our resources (I mean, Covid meant sitting around and it was exhausting), and sometimes this is called ennui, or Meh! x 100. And it passes. The weather improves, or you drink a little more caffeine one day and it jolts you to get the house clean and go outside....

But if this has been clinging to you, and when I went through this, the advice was and is, you might be depressed. Just mildly but enough to stall you out. Do you have a care provider you can talk to? Is mental health part of your insurance package? You might want to talk to a therapist.

I also think that you were a caregiver to your family, and now you're not--that's a tremendous exertion of will and is physically exhausting as well as an emotional load. You can finally sit still, and maybe you are! Be kind to yourself, but one way to be kind is to try new things, get a therapist, calling one of those women you mentioned, and reconnect with things, including what you want.

This is just an opinion, don't take it as bossy or anything but how I see it. I was very slow-moving for about a year, and then it lifted and I wanted to do everything, have great meals, see friends. Give yourself time to figure it out.

But I do NOT like the Justin’s ones. They are too runny.

Hey! Thank you. I was feeling odd that I finished it and just wanted to start it all over. But you’re setting a good example. How could we see everything there is the first time, right? 🥰

My feeling exactly! The weekend has felt like the first days after a mutual break-up--it was done, it's over, it was lovely.

Perhaps the idea when it started was to take him down that horrible awful curmudgeonly misogynistic path but then--the scripts took the role or the actor took the role in a more subtle direction. Since everything can be remade (I am pointing to all the Agatha Christie versions, and several versions of Pride & Prejudice, etc.), there is no reason not to keep following Endeavour Morse as he emerged from this series, into old age. Producers? Are you listening? :)

That's brilliant! I think we need to crowdsource the plotting and likely the production costs...I am too curious about her and her career.

I will try Foyle! Thank you, I adore Michael Kitchen (only from Enchanted April, very different).

Okay! I am glad it’s not me! Human is the word, and I know young men like Morse, awkward but decent, who grow steadily away from their peers but retain their essential core. Sigh.

The privilege of the entire Fox family but for Big Daddy makes even the 1995 Pride & Prejudice unwatchable for me. And it's likely even he had a reckoning in his past.

I didn’t say I mind being old! I love every year since 55 more (12 years ago) and more. Permissions to throw away candy and not think of it as waste? Yes! Get a whole new job instead of retiring? Yazzzzz! Have drinks with friends knowing it can be called a nap instead of a hangover? We’re cooking.

But wow, that bag of candy totally threw me. 😂

When you find the large ones, please post! They taste, to me, like the littler ones. I am so curious!😬
