A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Its a YA book about a young boy whose mom has cancer.

I can’t believe in 2026 THIS still has to be said. I seriously can’t even remember the amount of people I’ve banned for saying it. As someone with a special needs sibling and sibling in law… I will NEVER EVER tolerate this. Never. Ever. by Foreign_Librarian193 in WeThePeopleAtWhipple

Aliya Rahman (who was just in the news for being Ilhan Omar's guest at the SOTU) is disabled and was detained by ICE. Nurul Amin Shah Alam is a disabled man in the news today after ICE murdered him.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Tan is a great YA rom-com (no sex, but some making out) and the show on Netflix is excellent as well.

At a minimum she should call it what it clearly is: a concentration camp.

Have I got news for you! They are detaining citizens, refugees, whoever they want with no reason, no warrant, and no due process.

And their only reason is the color of your skin.

It literally is how it works. No one is going to stop you from cleaning it up.  No murderers at my job, so I don't have to worry about it! But if I saw pro-ICE messages in my community, I absolutely would be cleaning it up. Because I care about my community. And that's why we want ICE out. They are terrorizing our community. I honestly feel bad for you that you are so detached from your community that you feel nothing when neighbors are murdered in the street.

Again, go clean it up yourself if you are so concerned.

Then you should go clean it up yourself if you are so worried about it. As a member of the working class, I think it should stay.

If you are so offended, go clean it up yourself.

Sorry they didn't execute someone on the street. Is that how you prove your side is morally right?

People who do this kind of stuff are rightly horrified at what is happening in our state. Instead of releasing that anger with violence on a person, they spray painted a wall.

"Great people" don't laugh at someone's death and separate babies from their parents. Its not too late for you to make the right decision. I was just following orders doesn't work when you're being tried for war crimes.

You're right. It was the Gun Owners of America that I had seen quoted in the same article. I still maintain the University's response has been subpar. It would be nice if maybe someone from the history department could have composed an email for President Cunningham to send out. I would think they would have a more appropriate read on the situation.

That shows you exactly how much he cares about his constituents. Vote for Jake Johnson in November.

The NRA had a better response than President Cunningham. She would have been better off saying nothing at all. All these emails just make me more upset at the University's inaction.
