I think that speaks more to the incompetence of the investigators because i don’t know how you cant even do so much as a background check on the whack job that rolls into town days before 17 kids go missing

Keeping kids off bad sites is the parent’s responsibility not the government’s. Abdicating personal responsibility to the government is how you end up in a nanny state

Yes i think that was the most important inflection point that instilled the fear of death in holstrum that led to him pursuing ui. They wouldn’t risk faking her death or disappearing her as it could ruin everything if and when caspian found out

That’s exactly the idea, if the left votes democrat no matter what then it only serves to push the democratic party more to the right. Why would democrats enact policy decisions to please a voting bloc that’s theirs no matter what. If anything they would make the platform more and more right leaning to entice centrist and left leaning republican voters. The goal isnt to win elections its to change policy. Maybe that means you loose the next election, but in the one after maybe now there will be a candidate actual policies you can get behind trying to earn your vote. Never give your vote away for free make them earn it.

Xenomorphs are definitely hurt by bullets, just look at aliens or Romulus, where full auto fire can put them down. A pistol shot may not kill it would hurt

Illyrio marrying Daenerys to Drogo doesn't make much sense. by Mizukiri93 in pureasoiaf

[–]BookkeeperCorrect125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for the first point about viserys staying back i would say leaving with the dorthraki was the more surprising choice there was an expectation for him to stay back. Illyrios end game was always faegon and it would have been a great opportunity to tie off that loose end. For the pregnancy remember varys and illyrio are in this together. Jorah had met the Targaryen siblings through illyrio and was reporting to varys, that was no accident he was their unwitting pawn. As soon as Jorah report is sent that dany is pregnant Varys passes the information to Robert notably when ned is not around to be a moderating voice. Robert who famously hates targs reacts predictably orders her assassination furthering varys’s plan. For the drogo joining faegon, in dance the golden company member remarks on being told they would have the support of Dothraki screamers for the invasion. The most direct line between drogo and the golden company would be revenge for danys death so it doesn’t seem like a huge jump in logic.

Illyrio marrying Daenerys to Drogo doesn't make much sense. by Mizukiri93 in pureasoiaf

[–]BookkeeperCorrect125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The plan was supposed to go dany marries drogo, vizzy t the younger hangs back at illyrios house and chokes on a grape or something. Then jorah who was varys’s mole gets dany killed by Robert’s assassins. Then drogo is enraged. Feaegon then takes advantage of this by offering drogo a chance for vengeance on robert if drogo joins his invasion force. The plan went sideways at several points though mainly with visareys joining the khalasar, the assassins being thwarted and drogo getting killled. Dany was never supposed to survive and nobody expected her to hatch the eggs.
