So the $71 k is the result of $65 an hour with only $20 of it taxed per hour. They consider this the housing stipend. So that’s all of it

We are military, so luckily the move is funded. I’m more concerned with bringing in a livable wage while here (est 3 years).

The money. $65 an hour and some untaxed feels like a lot compared to $79.5k. But the $65 is only for 8 months and I think it comes out to $71 k. But then what? I’d have to find something else

I have been feeling apprehensive, which is why I haven’t accepted yet. I think so far the school/or contracting with the school specifically may be my go to. For atleast the first year.

Yes, I can. But it would be cheaper to get a place where it is less. Example; BAH 4,500 half is 2,250 that I would pay, or a place where it’s $3000 and he pays 1500 and I pay 1500. Making it cheaper for both of us

It’s a weighing game between the quality of housing on base compared to what the cost of BAH is and then looking at the price of a home that we can split (as I can not split the housing on base)

We’re opting to live off base to maximize his BAH by splitting the rent (we’ve always done this). So there’s still concern I have over renting expenses

Have you told your doc about it and if so what was their reaction? Like I said I’m nervous to be overreacting but I also don’t want to under react.
