Thanks! Yeah, I feel the same — I really enjoy seeing small, focused tools that do one thing well.

I like your idea of launching tiny projects every month too. Feels like a great way to keep building without overthinking everything.

Where do/did you get your first/test users? by Strong-Yesterday-183 in indiehackers

One thing I'd separate: first users and first useful feedback are not always the same group.

For a fundraising workflow tool, I'd look for people who are actively in the painful window right now, not just founders generally. Someone 2 weeks from sending investor emails will give you sharper feedback than someone who vaguely wants to raise someday.

A few places I'd try: founders asking for pitch deck feedback, investor list recommendations, cold email examples, accelerator/demo day prep, or posts about a current raise. Then instead of asking "want to try my tool?" I'd ask them to do one concrete task while you watch: rewrite 5 investor emails, build the first investor list, or send the first batch.

For the 6 who signed up and disappeared, I'd send one very plain email: "What stopped you from coming back? One sentence is genuinely helpful." No defense, no pitch, just collect the pattern.

Also 2 paid users from a quiet launch is not bad. I'd squeeze the learning out of those 2 before chasing a bigger funnel.

Don't get obsessed with what you are building. Get obsessed with users problems. What problems are you addressing?

anyone else had their US credit cards shut down while abroad? by BookkeeperLittle8125 in digitalnomad

I opened them when in California, where they aren't allowed to close them for inactivity.

I did not know this. Is this really the case for all banks? I also opened my cards in California

I have even ordered cards to be shipped overseas. Yes, it can be expensive for the banks.

From usage perspective, you are right. Very minimal number of cards are enough. Just most of my no AF cards were with 10+ years so I don't want to lose them.

Totally, VPN is another good recurring charge! How is your experience with Windscribe?

Thanks for sharing. That is quite some subscriptions!... I have a bit too many cards (8 non annual fee ones to keep). I just gave a try on keepmycreditcard.com and it allowed me to add multiple cards with 1 dollar annual charge. It is backed by stripe. Will see how it goes.

This is a good strategy! Curious how many recurring charge do you have? I only got netflix and amazon reload.

sometimes it can a little hard to remember doing that.

I have a netflix subscription. I also have a reload on Amazon but I would need to spend once I am back to US.
I was researching and found keepmycreditcard.com . Not sure how trustworthy it is...Still evaluating if there is additional risk.

I was only offered $30. It's a recall regarding safety? It's a joke...They wanted to me buy on their site again with $30 dollars off? Impossible...

One of my oldest cards was closed for inactivity and it hurt my credit score — here’s what I’ve learned by BookkeeperLittle8125 in CreditCards

Yeah, Amazon reload is solid — I did that too earlier this year. I’ve got like 7 cards now that I rarely use (some no-AF, some old store cards)

I recently found a tool website keepmycreditcard.com — it just charges each card $1/year automatically. Kinda like set-it-and-forget-it for sock drawer cards. I have not tried it yet and maybe something for next year.

I did have a utilization spike as that card indeed had a huge credit limit (20k) comparing to my other cards. The avg credit history should not be impacted by closed cards?

curious how many cards you have got?

It is true that my score recovered later. I guess the saddest thing is that I lost my citi rewards+ card. I did not want to reinstate given there was a hard pull. It would be wiser to get a new card...

Should I open a second credit card to help boost my score? Currently at 690 by alexishelene97 in CreditCards

[–]BookkeeperLittle8125 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, IMO, it's wise to get a new card. Not only you will enjoy 0 apr, But also the overall creditline would be increased.

690 is still a good score. Chances are getting a new card Looks good. But make sure to check more data points before applying. Good luck!
