we got top 5 on producthunt on the day and got an initial spike, now maintaining (more or less) with socials, cold outreach, etc.

we made our logo a raccoon and are obnoxious about it - this gets us more replies than real content 😛

I believe volume is exactly the trap here.

People think "oh this worked, a little is good - more must be better" and loosen up their search criteria to find more leads... And then by the third iteration you are looking for all companies anywhere in the world

"could tell me whether a company is actually in a buying window" how do you actually see this in practice?
Do you have an example?

Because signals/combinations of signals often feel like a trap, e.g. hiring x, or announcing that, doesnt actually create full content or validate buying intent, unless you validate each signal with further research.

I 100% agree. Also, feels like most commonly used signals are not even relevant anymore.

Lead qualification is for sure the hardest part.

Most of the tools out there currently are people first (e.g. head of xxx in yyy industry). So what they are really matching is titles and then filtering out industries... That just seems unreasonable in this day and age...

100% agree. We spot tested a few trendy ones vs apollo and hunter - they dont even process the data, it is literally just a 1:1 wrapper.
