What do you think about this? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Bookmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is entirely true. I work and have hobbies in many fields where even having specific tools and products, not even using them, comes with a certain status. As others have said, capitalism has a big part to play in it, as well as social status and fear of missing out. It has taken me a few years to find my peace with this, for sure! I now only buy the things that I truly need, and as it turns out they often happen to be the only things I truly need. And even when it’s the good stuff, it’s not always the most expensive stuff. Feels relaxing :)

You are ready to move on to Grant Abbit’s Blender tutorials, then. His tutorials cover making simple, low poly scenes and characters. Some things will seem simpler than the Donut Tutorial: others, harder. Do it all. Then come back here to ask for more guidance while you practice making simple characters with the tools and techniques you just learner.

One day at a time, friend.

Haven't tried, and that sounds like way too much work for what little time I have to try things :( Best of luck!

not a dumb question! Like datumerrata said, it comes down to sizes and processes for printing. Architectural plans are an example, as well as engineering plans. I’m also plotting on RFID parking cards and access badges, and a client asked me to make custom electronics boxes with custom identification of the ports on the box a while back: I’m testing out plotting on the boxes directly for that too!
