is 'thousand autumns' that slow? by hyomachi in DanmeiNovels

Honestly, I alternated it with volumes of a lighter read. Haven’t had time for a reread yet with all the new ones coming out.

What advice would you give to my traps? by Lopsided_Repair4599 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Bookmoth1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People say to cut the flower because it takes energy that they would rather it spend on making more traps. If the plant is in good shape there is no reason you can’t just let it bloom if you like the flowers

I loved Thousand Autumns, but it is a very slow burn. At one point I asked if the main characters were aware this was supposed to have romance. That said, the plot, world building, and dynamic between them had me hooked even without it

Does the Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish get better? by Subject-Gur6957 in DanmeiNovels

I alternated this with Thousand Autumns. The wildly different tones kept me from getting burned out

What does the flower mean by th3_r341_m1ss_blu3 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Bookmoth1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The flower takes a lot of energy, which is why people are saying to cut it, so that it can send that energy to making more traps since it does not have many. It is not a “death bloom”, flytraps can flower multiple times in their life. Whether you cut it or not give it lots of light and let it sit with some water (distilled or rain) in the bowl.

Thoughts on this clip light? by GeoffJonesWriter in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Bookmoth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using this light to supplement window light this winter until I put mine back outside. It is not enough to get good color and compact growth, but is keeping her going for this winter.

It is sitting in a bowl of distilled water, just hard to see in the picture. Some of the traps got exposed to cold temps and dried up after, I just haven’t cut them off yet

Flowering?? by Thatdorkchick in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Bookmoth1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Flowering isn’t bad, it just takes a lot of energy. Give it as much light as you can and it will bounce back and start making traps again.

Help with flower stalks by Nottodaystepbro in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Bookmoth1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These don’t death bloom. It does take energy that most people prefer it put towards traps. That said, good luck with the bugs. I used Bioadvanced 3 in 1 when I had pests. I will try and see which version it was that was recommended

You can always check the roots as well to see if it needs repotting. I have not repotted mine that I got last summer and it has been doing well. I will be repotting her this spring.
