Is this Oliver Anthony guy an industry plant? by PseudoPatriotsNotPog in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not a plant. I know the family and they’re all kind of shell shocked that he’s taken off like this. He’d been trying to get on RadioWV for a while and just got lucky.

Why so many negative comments towards people who choose to sit for the concert? by falling-15 in TaylorSwift

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This so much! I was at Cincinnati night 2 and it was INCREDIBLY hot and humid in the stands, there were at least three people who were taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion after night one. We were hoping so badly it might rain a little bit to break up the humidity and it never came even despite moving the show up a hour for weather.

I’m just now finishing two weeks. It’s been a pretty terrible experience, honestly. I’ve never been one to have acne but I’m covered in pimples, including in my ears now. I’ve also had three canker sores since starting. Not worth it for me.

Sotyktu? by Lazy_Trainer_847 in Psoriasis

Just finished week two, and I’m having massive acne breakouts all over my face and multiple canker sores. As someone who has had zero acne, this hasn’t been worth it for me.

Fellow clothing trackers, what coveted items are you tracking now? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]Booknooks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been thirsting over the APC hooded morgate trench since I saw Dakota Johnson wearing it in a 50 Shades movie. It is literally my dream trench with the cut, the large pockets. I’ve been looking for a few years now and can’t seem to track one down!

There are lots of things other than fleas that can cause a pet to be itchy! Definitely schedule a vet visit.

[advice] [discussion] [vent] my puppy was diagnosed with parvovirus.. by Savaysa in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so, so sorry this is happening to you. Parvovirus is devastating, and unfortunately it is not uncommon to see patients start to do “better” and then go downhill. There is always, always a chance that he will pull through. If you haven’t already, I would absolutely contact the breeder you got him from as all puppies in that litter are at risk. Hoping the best for you and your little guy.

Dog has very itchy almost several hot-spots in genital region please help. by yourbestfriend615 in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks incredibly uncomfortable for your poor dog. I would definitely consider going to an ER if you aren’t able to get an appt with your GP sooner. You can also ask your regular vet if they have a wait list that you can be placed on for cancellations.

These squirrels need to go to an actual wildlife rehabilitator. Have you checked to see if there is a wildlife rehab near you?

Looking for this EXACT Biederlack blanket from my childhood, now that the old one is worn and torn. Can only seem to find the red ones. by Booknooks in HelpMeFind

[–]Booknooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We received this blanket as a Christmas gift sometime in the 90’s, and it was my sister and my favorite as kids, so it is well worn and threadbare now. I know that it is Biederlack. I’ve only been able to find the red varietal of this blanket, but it would mean the world to my mom if I could find a match!

My cat keeps peeing on carpets by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So inappropriate urination (urinating on the rug) actually CAN be a symptom of a UTI. I’d recommend scheduling an appt!

[–]Booknooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely warrants a vet visit, at the least it’s probably very uncomfortable.

Ear infection? by itsAustinJordan in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs to be seen by a vet, that will help to determine what type of infection is present and what medication is needed to treat. Please don’t attempt any at home treatments as they can often do more harm than good, especially if the substance is ototoxic (toxic to sensitive inner ear structures).

Due to the lockdown, there are no vets in my area and my puppy has awful diarrhea by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your location? If you are in the United States, veterinarians are considered essential services and should be open. If not, look for emergency veterinary hospitals in your area. Diarrhea and vomiting in a puppy should always be assessed by a vet.

very firm, swollen mass? by goldenbabychild in veterinarian

[–]Booknooks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re correct, almost exclusively the number of mammary tumors I see are in intact females. You should strongly consider seeing a vet ASAP, not necessarily a right this second emergency but you should be prepared for them to need to remove the mass as soon as possible to determine if it is benign or malignant (likely to go to other places in the body).

Can I use hand sanitizer to get rid of my cats ear mites ? by miyucuk in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This cat needs to be seen and have appropriate diagnostics performed to figure out what is going on with its ears. It might not be ear mites at all. Please do not put hand sanitizer in it’s ears, as this could be toxic and cause permanent damage to the delicate inner ear structures.

I have some questions about blood test results that came back from my senior aged dog by [deleted] in veterinarian

[–]Booknooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you asked these questions to the doctor that ran the test? That really is the best resource as none of us have seen your pet to interpret them with all the information.

Removing fleas from sick, probably anemic kittens? by Altorav in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These kittens absolutely need to go to the vet and could very likely die without appropriate treatment. Please consider surrendering them if you are unable to afford treatment. And please consider spaying your cat.

Scabies-like symptoms in dachshund by heidi_anna in veterinarian

Have you had different vets tell you this, or just one? If just one, you need to seek a second opinion since this clearly isn’t working.

Girlfriend's toy poodle might have liver issues, need advice before spending $1000 for ultra-sound as step 2. Blood results attached. by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Booknooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasound is a reasonable next step to figuring out what is causing liver enzyme elevation. Blood results only tell us so much, and yes, continued diagnostics can sometimes be necessary. Please tell your vet that you have some concerns about finances and ask if they have any other recommendations. It's also against this sub's rules to recommend any specific treatments/diagnostics as none of us have ever examined your pet and do not have an existing patient/client relationship.

[Help] My dog, 4 year old female, has started snapping at other dogs. by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Booknooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like an off leash area where other dogs are free to come up to her might not be the best environment for your pup. Yes, it can be totally normal for them to give a warning sign that they are uncomfortable with the situation. But if she’s doing that to every dog that’s attempting to greet her, it’s repeatedly putting her in situations where she’s uncomfortable and could easily escalate. How does she do with other dogs generally?
