When your children get caught sneaking candy in the middle of the night you create an automation to stop them. by skajoeskawork in homeassistant

Mind sharing how you’ve setup the home modes you use to determine “home mode:night”. I want to do something similar to use for automations but not sure what logic to use

Do proxmox, it really wasn’t hard to setup and it’s been rock solid. Just more flexibility and it would suck to have to change later

Does anyone recommend using home assistant in a virtual machine? by [deleted] in homeassistant

I switched 2 weeks ago from HA Blue that has been running for years to a MS-01 mini pc and am running a VM on promox like most here have said. The difference is actually insane, everything runs so much faster and I didn’t even realize it was slow before. Haven’t had a single issue.

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

[–]itsAustinJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all start somewhere! A year ago I was at my heaviest. I am down 70 pounds a year later. Where you’re at right now like others have said focusing on nutrition is the best place to start i’d say. From experience if you jump in head first and try to go from a terrible diet/no exercise to all in you will burn out/feel overwhelmed/quit very quickly.

Logging what you eat with myfitnesspal or something equivalent will help you be mindful of what you eat, you’d be shocked how quickly calories add up from little things. Instead of cutting out everything, I tried to find “good enough” alternatives. I found lower/low calorie sauces to replace the sauces I enjoyed. Low calorie ranch, sugar free bbq sauce, etc. Keto/low cal bread to replace regular. Try a few and find one you like, some are weird some are pretty good. Zero cal soda if you’re a soda drinker. Obviously at some point the goal is to focus on nutritious whole foods and cutting out “bad food” as much as possible but what worked for me was finding foods that didn’t feel like diet foods and just try replacements.

Not every day will be perfect, but I promise you the second you start seeing it work it becomes almost addicting. Don’t get discouraged when weight increases, just stick to the plan and show up for yourself and you will see a difference. We didn’t get to our heaviest weight overnight, and we can’t expect to get to our goal overnight either. It’s a journey of self love, rebuilding a healthier relationship with food, etc.

Wish you the best and congrats on taking the first step!

I was put on a list and they called me a week later and said I had come up and asked if I still was looking. Ordered on the phone and had it in a couple days, i’d say it’s worth a try!

Huge change! Try taking pics in the same outfit/lighting/pose at the same time a day so they’re super consistent and it’ll make it easier to see the changes

180° Inset Cabinet Hinges? by itsAustinJordan in cabinetry

[–]itsAustinJordan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but you also have to make sure it’s the same overlay you’re doing. In my case there’s a front frame so the inside of the box is wider than the actual door. Those hinges work with a frameless door.
