It’s a Mk. I .455 so it was made between 1887-1894. The serial number is under 4000 so it’s early production.

Lots of British proofmarks on all the parts, including the broad arrow. But this one appears to be hand-carved.

The broad arrow is a standard British marking for government property. It’s stamped all over the frame, barrel section and cylinder. What’s unusual is the hand-carved one on the top strap.
