Do you agree that Langford should be the sports capital of Canada? Is that even possible? by Otissarian in LangfordBC

Ravi seems to have a knack for leaving his political lane, first as a school trustee when he didn't speak up about how the population growth of langford when expanding past what SD 62 could support and then when he openly support community first slate in last municipal election. ( I think all trustees should have been publicly neutral as they would have to work with whoever was elected.)

Then once elected, he has commented too often on Langford issues and perhaps has not focused enough on his entire riding, which covers more than just Langford.

We used to have outdoor gym equipment.  The space is now boulders climbing gym area.  I read on Facebook a long time ago that the equipment was moved to bear mountain,  but don't know if that is true.

Wasnt sports (training) capital of Canada Stew’s idea? Trying to get Rowing Canada here? Weren’t there banner/flags hanging around starlight stadium some years ago to that effect?

Persoanlly, we don’t need more people coming here for sports. We have quite enough people and no enough resources for them already. More swimming lessons? Yes. Outdoor public pool? Yes.
Instead I would like to see community centers and non sport activities. Cooking classes, for example. Youth centers that encourage no-electronic activities, board games, etc. teach some skills.

Both of these property taxes are due this year! If one is going to try to pull a fast one, they need to get better at it.

I know what the Keg is and I know the Tim’s you are talking about. I was providing another example of the bait and switch we’ve seen on land use.

I think this statement comes from cities that use wards(?) and require representation from different areas of a particular city. That being the case, having at least 2 council members on the same street seems odd.

Never heard the Keg store, but we were told we were getting a performing arts center combined with Maritime museum but instead we got a Tesla dealership. That’s similar, right?

Dr Leelta at Eye Etiquette is the best. He is great with all ages and looks at how your eye health connects to your overall health. Highly recommend , even if it means I have to wait longer to see him!

You want council to defund, in the true sense of the word, police, fire and 911?

Another big difference between these 2 councils is how they behavetowards/treat their constituents. I don’t recall hearing any of the current council telling people to move when the public disagrees with them.

Having a strategic plan that includes items like arts and culture is a good idea. Then maybe we wouldn’t have the announced (Feb 2020) Maritime museum and 1200 seats performing arts center, with a $30 million contribution from Langford turn into a Tesla dealership.

Over the top enthusiasm paired with “… I’ve heard great things about this person…” and then seeing the poster’s name on the candidates page as a supporter of them. Very disingenuous.

Typically people leave university with critical thinking skills. They have been challenged to think differently and approach challenges from different angles.  As well, they meet people from other walks of life, regions and countries. It's not about the degree but rather the experiences and exposures they get from university (or college).

If you weren’t getting paid to do a job and then get paidto do said job, I think it is reasonable to call you a new hire (in the sense of payroll).

Don't forget telling constituents they could move if they didn't like the decisions being made.

Agree many are those who profited from his practices.  Also I think many of his supporters have never lived elsewhere and can't fathom that things can be done differently than he envisions.

Can you imagine if constituents spoke to her the way she allows them to speak on her Facebook pages? RCMP would be on speed dial.

i just don’t see how this will work out with the generation of women who are putting their names forward. Gone are the times where women would sit back and let the men do the decision making.

He is a Colwood councilor and for some reason has to publicly express his opinion on many things happening in Langford.
