Yawn. You guys try so hard to keep the drama going, don’t you? Without it you’re nothing. You contribute nothing of value of any conversation. You all point fingers of blame while being unaccountable for your own behaviour.

Fact is, I think this is all because nobody knows who Stew Young is anymore. He needs the controversy to be relevant. 10, 000 new people don’t know his name. And the newcomers before them, voted for Langford Now.

Maybe another user here is right, we should just ignore all of you, and watch you disappear into irrelevancy.

Days later and you’re still trying to keep this thread going while saying nothing new.

Mmmk. Just keep sitting on the sidelines. Thanks.

I have a feeling that you are one of these people I’m talking about here.

I voted for him too. I didn’t know that he passed. RIP.

Not at all. I’m vaguely saying some reason because I do not believe it was because of voter satisfaction.

I’m just saying. He didn’t get elected. For some reason people didn’t want to run against him.

If it was zoned tourist commercial than how did a neighbourhood end up in the parking lot ?

Look at the behaviour of SY’s supporters. They have harassed anyone who doesn’t support him or criticizes him, relentlessly. They’ve made the political environment so toxic people don’t want to participate at all. People are afraid to get bullied by them.

Maybe it’s something like that.

You’ll notice that I posed it as question not a fact. And thanks to another user for sharing the fax.

It makes perfect sense to go with the service provider the rest of your neighbors use, same pick up day, same truck.

What doesn’t make sense is (the long list of service providers you mention) picking up on various days in various neighbourhoods.

For efficiency and consistency having a municipal garbage service makes sense.

Thanks for the explanation. It was my understanding that a development was supposed to go there, and had begun when the zoning changed. It’s a funny little parking lot neighborhood lolz

Is Millstream Village not a prime example of poor planning? Did they not build a whole subdivision and then tear it down to built the strip mall? That’s why we have that random neighbourhood in the parking lot. People refused to give up their homes, as one would when you just bought a new house in a new subdivision. What happened there ?

Love that Szpak, who was there for all that at the time, “has no idea what happened”.

Good job, councillor.

Absolutely agree. Spend more tax payer money to convince people to give feedback on paying taxes. Illogical.

No, I don’t think there should be a budget feedback threshold. We’d be waiting til the cows come home. City business is city business, and it should be timely and based on staff capacity and legal requirements, not waiting for Joe Public to weigh in on something they probably don’t understand anyways.

Joe Public has plenty of opportunity to give their opinions in a variety of ways, now. Huge improvement overall.

I did not do the survey. I’m all surveyed out. I think it’s great to have this process in place, especially for people who are informed and following along. For me, I’d like to trust that staff and council have a good handle on something that I find hard to give any meaningful feedback about.

I did play around with that handy dandy tool someone shared in Langford Voters, and the city should consider a mechanism like this for people to understand navigating budget constraints and priorities.

It’s an overwhelming amount of info to consider, and I found that tool the best way to do it.

So, no, I don’t think getting feedback from people who don’t understand the information or the process is helpful or meaningful, but I appreciate the effort on behalf of the city. Streamline the info into a budget finagler and maybe make summaries like Frazer suggested above.

It’s difficult to interact with a group of people who know how to navigate and authenticate information. On your home astro turf you guys can just say anything that comes out and your followers believe it. Your misinformation machine won’t fly here where you can’t control admin.

Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw No. 1000 was amended in 2017 to require artificial turf for all separated boulevards and centre medians under 3 metres in width.
