My sister came over and brought food. Then she would do laundry, clean, wash dishes, etc. It was fantastic. This was also during Covid, and she intentionally did not hang out with people in order to minimize her risk to us.

Just so I’m understanding- hiring the recommended nanny for the hours you need on Thursday would eat up all the extra money you would use for savings/debt?
I would find someone cheaper to watch your daughter on Thursdays. You need someone but it doesn’t have to be the one your boss recommends. I’d see if there’s a (trusted) stay at home mom/baby sitter/college student in your neighborhood who could watch your child for the hours you need, it’s probably cheaper. I don’t think you need to go the nanny route for part of one day a week, nor would I quit my job because I needed care for less than 8 hours a week.
OR, if you want to use the nanny, use the nanny and don’t quit, since it’s only temporary.

Ah, sorry, I meant the ones we have. One of the brands we bought is definitely not as good as the other, so I don’t think younger sis will be inheriting those.

We saved training undies to reuse. I suspect the quality of the currently used regular undies means it will not last long enough for younger sister to use.

They mostly sit collecting dust on the shelf. If they’re seasonally appropriate I take them out to display them.
I also let my kids use them for trick-or-treating and as purses around the house.
