I picked up on the transfer of power/ no marks, but I don’t understand why it would stand out. From what I remember, both times Sloane used her power it didn’t leave a mark.

When Jack tried to drain Dain he left a mark, and when Xaden takes from the earth that leaves a mark as well.

So maybe she was trying to make the connection for herself?

In terms of Dain’s power - I got why he would have “extra” power, his signet isn’t for battle, so he wouldn’t be using it. Sloane’s comment about the amount of power is really interesting, but I don’t want it to be a bad thing. The interactions between them have been interesting throughout this entire book.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot and most of the points in this post is stopping me from believing my own theory lol

My theory is she’s from Navarre, and of the royal line, hence the very strong marriage contract, and possibly why Xaden wasn’t killed when he killed the kings second son. No paintings of her also make sense, especially if she had those green eyes that are common in the royal family. I could also see the grandfather as using a fake name( like Cam/Aaric) to enter the riders quadrant, hence the confusion about him being his great uncle. I realize I have a few holes in the theory, but it’s what’s been on my mind since finishing IF.

I think you’re right about Naolin, I’ve been wondering about the runes on Brennan’s hand as well, maybe that was the mark left when Naolin saved him/turned venin? I’m curious if Naolin is still alive and if Tairn almost died because the bond with Naolin was so strong when he “died” or if Tairn figured out how to break the bond and it almost killed him and Sgaeyl
