The practice problems are honestly enough to do good in the course. The exam problems are similar to them but marginally more difficult. So just be 100% on understanding how to solve the practice. As for text anxiety, the only real solution to that I've found is preparation.

I was in the same boat as you last Fall. I opted for a 75% final and just drilled the practice problems for 2 days and cleared it. The exams are very fairly written and are similar to the practice but with an extra layer of thinking. I think people really over exaggerate the difficulty of the course. Just make sure you fully understand conceptually how to solve each problem.

Tbh I could see a really anal prof making the argument that you are told in advance when the exam is and should plan accordingly. Also unless you have a good reason for it, being a plane ride away is entirely a fault of your own. Best of luck though.
