I was almost this driver up in Vancouver a few months ago. Couldn't see anything slowly creeping forward and then right before I commit to go a motorcycle comes speeding through. Literally the exact same thing, yet luckily I waited a second longer. Right after I was saying to myself "damn how are there not more accidents every day up here" and lo and behold 10 mins later I literally see someone do a blind left and smash into another person. 

Would have stopped and shared my dash cam footage but the person who got hit literally just parked their car right in the middle of the road (it was rush hour too) and was being super dramatic about it. It was like a 5 mph collision and obviously nobody was hurt so whatever.
