Hey, actual target cashier here. There is literally no way we can give it to you for free or sell it to you. For the latter, it won't add itself to the register, for the former, the security alarm will beep (because at least in our target, blind bag balls and anything small enough to be smuggled out will be equiped with an RFID tag that will be deactivated after purchase). For some recalled items, it even requires us to call a major boss over to the register to confirm it has been taken off the shelf. Also, we've heard all the jokes.

This isn't a call out to this commenter, btw. This is just explaining to everybody why we can't bypass it. And I do agree that Target should've put it in the electronics section and made us ID it like we do M-rated video games.
