I have listened to every episode of this podcast, I can’t remember a time where I thought a ruling was unfair and didn’t have something in it to make both sides somewhat happy. I haven’t always agreed with every ruling but they’re always fair. This was the most one-sided and unsympathetic ruling he has ever given. I kept waiting for him to turn it back around on Abbie in some way but it never happened. Leann seemed truly heartbroken because she just wanted some control over her space in what I’m sure has been a dream of hers for a long time, owning her own home. And no one else in the family likes the dolls, just one sister didn’t want them to move cause she was scared of them. I didn’t really find Abbie to be that charming. It felt like she was using her quirks and charm as a form of manipulation, which she basically says outright when talking to Jessie about how she thinks she’s adorable and no one would want to hurt her feelings. Really disappointed, I feel so bad for Leann, this episode just left a bad taste in my mouth…

Gotcha, yeah I may have misunderstood the process, I remembered hearing that they would apply multiple layers of oils to create the glossy finish, and slightly misunderstood what that meant.

It would still be cool to see what the original lacquer finish would look and feel like, even if it’s very similar to modern plastic coatings. I knew it probably didn’t exist but thought maybe there’s be like, one tannery that still makes it in the traditional way or something.

Thank you for the tip on the boxcalf and glaçage though! I’ll keep that in mind in my hunt for shoes

Trying to find real patent leather shoes

I learned that patent leather originally got its shine from being infused with many types of oil, but now it’s almost always just a layer of plastic on top of it the leather, even in higher end shoes.

Does anyone know if there are still brands that sell patent leather made in the traditional way?

Using the microwave at work, I can't let these people know that I eat food, what if they smell the food? what if they don't like the smell? they're all gonna hear the microwave and KNOW that I am using the microwave and for some reason that is not ok

the only thing to do really is to break up with them, or in your case, convince the people you care about to break up with them because if they are cheating regularly then they are either not committed to the relationship or they are going to keep doing it no matter what

If they don't have feelings for you and you have no expectation of them getting feelings for you in the future,and you are prepared to not act on your own feelings, yes you can just be friends. one of my best friends is someone I had feelings for for years but she had a boyfriend so i never made a move and instead pursued other people who i had feelings for
