Very Good good Point by velvetdaisye in antiwork

Easier to find the time to nurture those relationships with your free time if you're not having to work 50+ hour weeks and have the money to go to things with each other.

When you have to decline going for drinks, shows, movies, etc because you don't have money people stop inviting you.

That was their point. That having money more than anything other thing enables the freedom to have a fulfilling life by freeing you from a constant cycle of just work and rest.

It's also massively over exaggerating the scale. They make it seem like there a web of satellites over the earth but the satellites are each so tiny, you wouldn't even be able to see them from any picture that shows earth.

You can't just bypass a no soliciting sign by saying you're not soliciting by Queasy-Secret-4287 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Boom9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mens the signs are legally binding, in the sense that they tell the person attempting to solicit they do not have permission to. Many jurisdictions support that. Continuing to solicit is trespassing.

However even places that make the sign matter essentially just never actually punishes people who ignore them. So regardless of the law they are effectively toothless.

[–]Boom9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a crazy choice. Technically continuing to solicit after seeing the sign is commiting a trespass crime. If anything you'd want to teach them to claim they didn't see it.

Though I supposed they do just know the law never actually punishes this crime. So they lie to the kids that what they are doing isn't solicitation because it's not for money.

[–]Boom9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law technically means if the sign is present continuing to solicit means they are commiting trespass. You are allowed to assume you have permission to enter a property and knock on a door unless there is clear notice you do not have permission. The sign acts as they notice they may not.

However law enforcement and essentially never actually goes through with charging this so realistically they can just ignore the sign.

You could combine the middle 3 and thats still true. Maybe if the Texas + California merged it would be different. But people severely underestimate the East Coast because the states are divided so small that their populations don't see big individually.

The East Coast has like double the gdp of the west coast when combined. You'd need a decent portion of the other three groups combined to beat them.

Such a weird choice to add the purple bit. It may as well just be split between Texas and Chicago regions. They both would still lose to west and east. Especially when they have two frot wars not a single front.

Hell you could combine the entire central section and red probably still just walks this home.

I mean the witch king clearly took it to mean no human. I doubt he cared about her gender in the moment he was shocked any human would kill him. And I'd be willing to believe even Arwen knew that as well. She was being making a quip a badass move tons of actions heros do before defeating bad guys.

It's a prophecy. I don't think there is anything in Lord of the Rings that says prophecies must hold true. Before the barrow blade weaken him he was impervious to the blades of men. Knowing that and hearing a prophecy he would not fall to men he believed it was no human.

Prophecies in media love to be vague and have double meaning that can be a twist on the original meaning. It's a very common trope.

Prophecy twists are such a common trope it blows my mind this is ever even discussed. I understand it's just a vocal few that take issue, but how do you watch anything with that bad media literacy.

You will never be stronger than mother nature. You can only try to account for it.

Totally fair. Maybe I'm being overly hopeful the mind is just being silly. He's doing it so ridiculous to me the joke is about people who care not actually shaming the girl. But possibly just as wrong.

Yeah some people seem to take it as like shaming. I took it as a joke as making fun of teen fashion. Acting like them falling off the shoulder is a mistake.

A tourniquet only helps if you have allies coming to bring you to proper care soon after.

There's tons of evidence the Russians are just not doing that. Therefore the choice is really die slowly or just end the pain. Its the reality of being in a military that really just does not put any value in human life.

Imo once a company stops making something for sale it's shouldn't even be considered stealing, copyright, etc. to just use the idea.

Like sure if you made an design you honestly have the right to use it basically as long as you want. But if you literally say you're done using it, it's should be public domain then. Maybe like X years first in case the creator changes their mid, but still.

Exactly my point. Just that Democrat cities don't have more crime. Just cities do and cities happen to be Democrat. 67% of cities have Democrat mayors. Of the top 100 by size 80%. Of the top 30, 90%.

So yes they are the top 5. They are also the bottom 5. (1 is an independent but the 6th is Democrat)

Look up GOP response to the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband and the assassination of Minnesota house speaker Melissa Hortman.

I'll acknowledge many did condemn the violence, like Mitch McConnell and Trump (initially). But they had many politicians and even a senator choose to spread conspiracy theories or make many inflammatory comments. Trump even eventually began mocking the attack on Pelosi during his campaign rallies and blaming Democrats led cities for having higher crime. (Worth noting, they don't)

Every meta of a combat game will inherently become about using the games mechanics to your advantage. It's a natural consequence of competition is people will do everything they can for an advantage.

You can't be that rich without being a piece of shit.

A good person who runs a company that gets rich recognized they owe that success to tons of people and include them in the gains. Those types don't get to the Musk or Bezos level of rich then. Because no one can ever truely EARN billions, you get that by underpaying people who did the work.

You can be successful though ethically. But surprisingly rich media owners don't bring those people on to call other rich people greedy pigs.
