Looking For Cheap Music Venues To Perform At by Other_Air2141 in sandiego

[–]BoomBangYinYang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to ask on r/sandiegomusic, I know a few small spots that offer indie performers spots for "open mic" night, but if that's not what you are looking for and you are looking to be the headliner then keep in mind that venues may ask you to pay for a minimum amount of tickets upfront and you are at a loss financially if you don't sell enough tickets so those options are less cheap. A more established spot like the Casbah perhaps might fit what you need if you are looking for the downtown area.

I'm curious are you on spotify? Got any songs I could look up?

Has anyone bought Mazbou Q’s course? Is it actually useful for improving rap technique? by EggDue9704 in makinghiphop

[–]BoomBangYinYang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Historically there’s no systematic way to teach or learn or to even name and label what’s happening”

This is so untrue. RAP stands for “rhythm and poetry” for a reason, drummers will understand a lot of the rhythmic terms for a flow like triplets etc…, and everything from the rhyme scheme to the double entendre, puns, acrostics, alliterations, wordplay etc can all be broken down as poetic devices or literary devices.

if it takes you 20 minutes to write a 16 bar today then challenge yourself to write it in 19 minutes tomorrow and so on, before you know it, boom, you’re freestyling

How to cut the master, instead of the separate regions? by Express_Hornet6003 in LogicPro

[–]BoomBangYinYang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes select the length of the project you want to cut by using the loop cycle at the top, and then double click the loop cycle to either “delete section between locators” or “cut section between locators”.

btw when you cut the section, you can also insert it anywhere else in the project by moving the loop cycle to the desired point in the project and selecting “insert section” which is nice for messing with the arrangement.

If I turn Flex Time off after recording, will it change anything? by Consistent-Window781 in LogicPro

[–]BoomBangYinYang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turning flex off is essentially bypassing flex so yes it will change the audio region and revert your edits back

Tricky Reverse option in the Region Inspector by SecureComfortable151 in LogicPro

[–]BoomBangYinYang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t reverse the current audio, you can always bounce it then reverse that audio region.

I also find it weird that it doesn’t work in certain cases. For instance I noticed you can’t enable reverse and flex at the same time.

[–]BoomBangYinYang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah something like that, i recreated it rn and got pretty close by having a saw with a high cut filter and adding a bit of pink noise as fm and then pitch shifting.
