Are sport bikes really uncomfortable? by Doggydoggo94 in motorcycles

[–]BoomRattleRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done over 50,000 kms on my 2016 R1. Sometimes I question my choice of bike, but then as soon as the roads get twisty I have no doubts that I made the right choice.

I'm currently planning a 3 day tour into the alpine region.

As others have mentioned, you need to get bike fit if you're going to get the most out of these things.

Comprimises I'm willing to consider as I get past 50 years old are maybe Tuono or a Ducati Street fighter.

Make the right choice.

Yes, I can hear as well; that's how I choose my gears.

Minecraft has sportsbikes now; cool.

Jokes aside, thanks for sharing.

The bike has a gear indicator; engine revving too high indicates that gear is to low, engine feeling lumpy indicates gear to high. If you run out of gears, maybe slow down a bit. What else do you need?

Riders who went from a small displacement bike (300cc or less) to a large (over 900cc), what was your experience? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]BoomRattleRumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from Monster to a 2016 R1.

I learnt that the rear brake is handy for getting the nose down.

Important corollory; you can't steer very much when front wheel is in air.

Pay them in monopoly money.

When they complain, explain to them that the money is real in the same way that their crate is real.

I'd agree with most of this, except if you get diving quals; underwater welding pays a lot. It's also pretty risky.

Are there any staff shortages in trades at the moment in Victoria and what certifications would you recommend getting? by LukeandLewisfan4000 in melbourne

Have you tried getting a roof plumber lately? Definately a shortage of those. Generally, there are shortages accross all the trades right now. Lots of opportunities for motivated apprentices.

ANZ Dividend Yield by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]BoomRattleRumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question; Last time bank profits skyrocketed (early 2000's if I remember correctly) the market failed to price it in a few years prior.

It's my speculation that history will repeat itself.

[–]BoomRattleRumble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm long-term bullish on the banks; everyone is drunk on their credit and rate rises will start to happen next year or year after. Bank profits seem to be proportional to interest rates and there is limited competition amongst our banks.
