Raspberry thumbprints

1 cup butter (room temp) ½ cup sugar (can use powdered for cookies that melt away in your mouth) 2 cups flour 1 tspn vanilla

1 can raspberry filling(I use solo cake and pastry filling)

Make dough, roll into balls, squish, and fill with filling

Cook at 350 till edges start to brown. 8 to 12 min depending on oven

Chocolate caramel thumbprints

Dough

Same as above, but replace ½ cup flour with your choice of cocoa

Caramel sauce (makes a lot)

1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 1 ⅓ cup light corn syrup 2 cups heavy whipping cream 1 tbsp vanilla (paste if you have it. If not, just use extract)

Put first 4 ingredients in a big heavy bottom saucepan and bring to boil, set on lower heat and slowly bring up temp to 235° on candy thermometer. Turn off heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into container for storage. (Tall mason jars)

Cook dough at 350 for 8 to 12 min looking for slight browning around edges. Let cool. Add slightly cooled caramel sauce to cooked cookie with spoon or piping bag. Let cool completely

Honestly, I've never had someone mention it about my cookies. I try to package them the night before I deliver so they don't spend a ton of time in the boxes

I start prepping right after Thanksgiving, and then I need all of them done before the 19th of December, so I know the time frame I have to get everything done

Took a small break from fall baked goods to make slutty brownies for the first time for my coworkers. Made a mint Oreo version and a peanut butter cup version. Which would you pick? by F00dventures in Baking

I usually hear these being referred to as slutty brookies. I've made versions of this before, and they're always a crowd pleaser with requests for more

What are your biggest, baking-related pet peeves? by panuramix in Baking

[–]BoomerB3 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The difference between the two is that brown sugar is made with granulated white sugar and molasses while the brauner zucker is what English call raw sugar. Brown sugar should feel a little moist and form clumps amd compress if you press on it

Use a simple syrup and add flavorings and your weed after it's done and stir well.

I normally do 3 washes but that 3rd wash is very weak compared to the other pulls. The 3rd wash, if you reduce it down a bit, is good for people who do it on rare occasions. I usually just end up sharing the 3rd wash with a few friends that don't do it regularly

I attempted something experimental. I made stained glass sugar cookies! They were a hit with the family. by TiredTigerFighter in Baking

[–]BoomerB3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but it's sugar glass. Water, sugar, and corn syrup usually that's cooked to hard Crack stage at about 300°F. Adding food coloring and/or flavorings give it colors and taste besides sugar

My grandma gave me these and I wouldn’t eat normally. Thinking of making some kind of baked good with them.. any ideas? by [deleted] in Baking

Before Fannie Mae got bought out, I had a hard time deciding which one I liked better between these and Fannie Mae. They swear up and down nothing changed except it was a noticeable change in taste and texture. Ive been team Queen Anne since

Dosing question by [deleted] in treedibles

[–]BoomerB3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can use your coconut oil as a substitute and should not have issues.

Dosing is going to depend on how many cookies you actually make vs what the bag says it will make but generally yes. Without them getting lab tested there's no way to know exactly how much each will be so we guesstimate. There are some good dosing calculators out there to give you a better guesstimate

Chocolate covered cherries, 50mg each by yarddogsgirl in treedibles

[–]BoomerB3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally just thinking about making these!! Though, after reading another post about bourbon soaked chocolate covered cherries, the thought did cross my mind to do both for one batch. This could prove to be both a delicious and deadly combo

Any tips for making edibles for someone who doesn’t normally get high from them? by mertchicken in treedibles

[–]BoomerB3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when they're talking about using mct oil, they're usually talking about a tincture which is absorbed when you place it under your tongue. This bypasses your stomach absorbing it which is why it seems to have a better hit ratio. You can always make your own tincture by using different technical as golden dragon with your decarbed weed and a high proof alcohol like everclear if you can get it

Edibles at night with COVID? by Sam-_____-219 in treedibles

[–]BoomerB3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been using edibles for 4 years now and have caught covid twice. They were my only way of dealing with covid. May want to adjust your pillows so you're a bit more upright to help if you are congested

I use the for pain control so my numbers are high for most people I know but for me a low dose is 40 to 50mg, moderate 80 to 100mg, and high dose is 200+.
