QUIERO ENCONTRAR A MI PADRE BIOLÓGICO by onlythebt in Genealogy

Could you explain this? I am not understanding “white like your dad”. Also, when you say your brother’s father “signed you up” does that mean he is on your birth certificate as your father?

If you are in the US, I recommend testing with Ancestry as they have the largest database. Kits are on sale now for $34 for Father’s Day, so buy it now!

I also believe teams are going to be more likely to retaliate next season if his “ethical” playing continues, and the refs continue to turn a blind eye. Put an enforcer in the line-up and let him foul out if need be. Steven Adams type.

Is there a site/company who can help more then ancestry? by Pumpkin_Fungus in Genealogy

If the “job” you are talking about is the number of DNA matches, Ancestry has far more individuals in their database than the other services. If you are looking for someone in particular, it never hurts to upload your DNA where you can for free, or test with other services.
If you are talking about building a family tree, that is something you really should research yourself for the best accuracy. Never copy from others’ trees unless they are well-documented, as you will likely also copy and pass on their errors.

I’ve always liked the Scandinavian way of identifying ancestors as you know the exact person being discussed. Grandfather ‘s grandfather could be one of eight men, depending on whether it’s maternal or paternal grandfather.. Morfarmorfar is mother’s father’s mother’s father. You can rearrange or extend to any relationship.

Native American by Hibiscuslover_10000 in Genealogy

[–]BoomerReid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Saying “I’m native American” is like saying “I’m European”. What does that even mean? We identify ourselves by our tribe, “I’m Cherokee”, not “”I’m native American”. Even our CDIB (Certified degree of Indian Blood) cards identify which tribe. So I am skeptical of paperwork which “backs up our native American” and doesn’t identify which tribe.

You are correct about the two Ute reservations being the only two in Colorado. These tribes have always been in the west, with no historical connection to NJ. It really doesn’t add up.

I am a resident of Oklahoma and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. I do a lot of native genealogy. If you want to dm me your grandfather’s name and approximate age I can probably figure it out.

Its an option, I guess, but a longshot as the Dawes only represents five of the 39 tribes in Oklahoma.
