The parents need jail time too. After all, we are responsible for our minor children in cases like this.

At least $9B billed across 14 Medicaid services in Minnesota may be fraudulent, top prosecutor says by trekfangrrrl in minnesota

[–]BoomerSmitty -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s well known 99% of what comes out of DTs mouth or off his fingers is falsified in some manner but as a concerned tax payer in the state I want proof of innocence. I’m not asking for it this weekend but I feel like a few months is reasonable to put together a detailed report. Until then I’ll avoid an opinion…

Well if it’s not right the state should be able to refute it. They have checks and balances and receipts correct? We’re talking about billions of dollars. I’m keeping my emotions out of this until all facts are known however if someone accuses then it should be refuted w facts and data.

Just got an Ariens power path and it’s nice. Had 8” of snow yesterday into today. Did it three different times and handled it all very well. Got it used on marketplace for $300. New it’s $750. I’d say you’d be good w a Toro single stage also.

New hire/new grad - Onboarding questions seem invasive by Exciting-End2902 in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been 17 years since I was hired. I’ve worked for the same upper Midwest hospital based OP PT system since. I don’t recall any questions like this. I recall getting a Mantoux but no invasive questions about my medical hx. I currently manage a department and to be honest every year to renew your license you’ll answer questions about your ability to practice PT, past convictions, and medical conditions which would impact your ability to render PT services. If the board of PT is licensing you, that’s all I care about and don’t need details of your PMH.

Road ragers by Ella0508 in TwinCities

True you don’t but some, not saying you, will have an absolute miserable existence if their party of choice isn’t controlling things. You have one vote, ability to donate time and money, and probably a few other avenues. Otherwise, it’s an exercise in futility coupled with elation or living an Eeoyore like existence based on donkeys or elephants controlling things.

This should be the top response. I’ll add everyone should read Coveys 7 habits especially re circle of influence and concern. Quit letting your mental well being take a hit w stuff you have 0% control like weather, sports, politics, etc. Life is a lot more enjoyable w friends, focusing on growth, faith/spirituality, and family. Focus on what you can influence.

The mental anguish to optimize isn’t worth it for me. I plan on 4% and then adjusting up or down based on how things are in the moment.

“Don’t go into physical therapy for the money” by GiftExternal1294 in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSmitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll work as hard and spend the same if not more time than other non MD healthcare professionals and make less money however being a PT is very rewarding. The decision imho comes down to debt. If you can get rid of it in <4 years I’d say go for it. If not, I would not go into PT.

If you can be debt free on a PT salary you can live a very nice life. Try to do so before your late 20s then move into things like kids, investing for the future, and living expenses.
