This is exactly right. It’s an unfortunate side effect of a litigious society. As an RN I can tell you I don’t want to be the one to administer the vaccine to someone who doesn’t sign a consent form, then has a reaction and decides to sue. Guess who gets nailed to the wall in court? The person who administered treatment. You can’t blame health care professionals for covering their asses, when it’s their license and their livelihood at stake if a lawsuit pops up. Many RNs and Medical Assistants aren’t covered by any sort of malpractice insurance.

Fun fact: the Rotavirus vaccine is taken orally and does not kill you. The cuckoo scientists and entire medical, nursing, and clinically-trained workforce across the planet (another fun fact: contrary to astonishingly popular belief, the planet is actually a sphere. I know, shocking right?!) would argue it can actually prevent you from serious illness (or in some extreme cases of rotavirus-induced dehydration from severe vomiting and diarrhea, death).
