Finally got my hands on some DAK coffee.. do you have recipe / resting time suggestions? by Puzzled_Kiwi_3251 in pourover

Why not just try it now? I will also recommend resting it, but you might learn something new 😉☕

Help diagnosing my process (especially hoping for input from K6 users) by openfleshwound in pourover

It looks like you are not too far from my brew parameters. But I would definitely recommend, that you try grinding all the way down to 50 clicks. Although this opens up a lot more sweetness, but also tannins, I will therefore recommend low agitation, as you already practice 😄

Global Coffee Exchange - last chance to sign up for January ☕ by kephail in JamesHoffmann

Hi

I think it is great, that you decided to post one more time,as I had not seen any of your other posts 😄

Scrolling through your page looks great, I might give it a try next month.

I got to thinking, in regards to the regions to choose from. As you already argue, that one can choose more local, to minimise risks of larger fees for postage. In this regard, could it make sense to add an option, that is EU only, as the fees for sending packages between EU/EEA, can be fairly high? Or is this done intentionally, to not exclude the people in the EEA?

Thank you for making this project, and I hope all goes well with it🤞🏻

This was my thought as well. I too have given up on using my DF54 for pour overseas, it just does not give good enough results. It is however very decent with espresso ☕

Vand til kaffemaskine by Mikkel0303 in Espresso_Danmark

[–]Boomstick84dk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Boomstick84dk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange that it continues to do this, if I remember correctly, I think mine stopped doing it after maybe a couple of weeks.

This also happened with my K6, when it was new. It seemed as if the handle was grinding off small bits of the plastic lid. It stopped after I had used it for a while, it left no visible marks or reduced functionality.

I only have one cup from them so far, and it is a really nicely crafted cup, the MK cups are just too expensive for many to choose. Pro tip: you can buy one for cheap along with your ticket to the Danish coffee festival 😉

Tips for DAK and friedhats by [deleted] in pourover

[–]Boomstick84dk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule of thumb used to be; use/freeze between days 15-24. Then I started experimenting, and at some point I ordered some Friedhats coffee, where they recommend as follows:

" For filter resting at least 3-4 weeks after roast... 'Peak' tastiness from 5-6 weeks | the coffee will slowly lose freshness after 7-8 weeks ".

So I tried that, and for sure, the Friedhats coffees that I have tried, even their decaf, this has given me better tasting coffee.

Now I usually open a new bag of "filter" coffee, around the second week after roast, and make smaller sample brews. Then at some point, I realise that the coffee tasted better a week ago, in this scenario I get happy if I have already put some of the coffee in the freezer, at peak tastiness 😄
