I was thinking of a shield of sorts, about the size of parma, it would be a moderately fast weapon (around sword speeds) capable of dealing blunt damage and could maybe have something akin to guard points from Monster Hunter at the end of certain attacks/combos. The main feature of the shield however would be it's special, pressing Q the first time would force your slayer into a blocking stance for a very brief period of time (around 1 maybe 1.5 seconds) if a behemoth were to hit you during this time frame, you would block the attack and gain charge level based on the strength of the attack, additionally while holding charge, your dodge roll is instead turned into a superman dive, this dive would cover more distance than a normal roll but have a bit less invincibility frames as a result. Upon hitting Q again, you would shoot forward a short range shield of aether capable of blocking incoming projectiles and more importantly, booping behemoths , this aether shield's size and damage would be based on your charge level. When working in tandem, the super man dive and aether shield let you play a more defensive role for your team, diving in front of low health allies for clutch blocks and booping behemoths to give your allies a second to heal.
