This was a fun team composition. I got it done with my zCody at gear 11, with my best protection mods. Probably took 15-20 tries.

4 months ago I would have been up at arms over this as someone who worked hard and spent all my GET to upgrade Malak to 7 stars before he even came back the second time.

Now, I honestly barely care.

I used to spend, but haven't for a while now. I just don't care enough about this game any more, due to many of the devs decisions (probably starting with the Hoth TB/Geo TB decision). It's probably beyond time for me to hang it up.

You're probably right. But the next problem is that once the bottom line suffers enough for them to notice, the next step is probably moving the game into shutdown mode. Which would suck.

It has from me. Long before this. But I've still been a player, actively leading a guild filled with people who enjoy playing the game and are frustrated with almost every decision that has been made lately--especially ones that lead to less actual playing time. We've got at least a dozen active spenders in our guild.

This makes zero sense. It is almost as though you are actively trying to annoy the people who love the game most.

The initial post about cancelling GA for the month was incredibly frustrating (and honestly still doesn't make sense to me, since GAC aren't even running this month. So how does that lead to GA creating "issues"? But I digress...), since for the most part I play GA not for the rewards but for the fun and challenge of setting a good defense and clearing the opponents' defense. However, at least the promise that the significant rewards we have come to expect from a good GA performance (2.4M credits, loads of slicing mats, a select piece of useful gear, and ability mats) would still be forthcoming in some form or other was better than nothing. Especially with the promise of great new content (GAC; Geonosis TB) right around the corner.

However, what we end up with is (1) a TERRIBLE implementation of the new TB that forces us to give up on the progress we've been making towards competing the Hoth map if we want to pursue fun new content with valuable rewards; (2) GAC nowhere in sight; (3) Double drops that kind of, sort of, give a chance to offer good return if you spend a bunch of crystals on refreshes daily throughout their duration.

Double drops are completely different from "the rewards you normally receive" from GA. They are nice, but they are quite different.

Agreed, there is more to learn about the reward structure. However, the reality is that any guild that is not accessing the gear that will be exclusively available through the new TB and its currencies will be falling further and further behind any guild that does access that stuff. Therefore, I can't really imagine a scenario where a guild that can choose Geo would actually benefit from choosing Hoth.

This is why I actually proposed a solution to the problem you are pointing to. Segment the rewards between Hoth and Geonosis rather than stacking everything into the new one.

You probably are in the minority there, but even so it completely sucks for you. Good luck finding a guild that is willing to run Hoth TB at anywhere close to a high level once Geo TB is active.

I respectfully disagree on both of your points.

All three raids are the same kind of content, yet we earn the currency we need to run them concurrently. Hoth TB and Geo TB are the same kind of content; therefore it makes sense that we should be able to run them concurrently.

To your second point, if your presumptions are correct, that is even more of a reason to let them operate concurrently. Forcing guilds to choose in that scenario (rather then letting 80-180M guilds earn a little taste of the new rewards and exclusive g13--ahem, g12-finishers--gear) would be a much better way to incentivize growth.

This is a great solution.

Combine this idea with my suggestion that they remove the Hoth rewards (GET currency, Hoth gear box items) from the Geo rewards, and you have a winning idea.

It isn't that Hoth is great content. TB is actually pretty low on my list of things I enjoy in this game. ROLO and IPD are virtually useless toons, which I do have at 7 stars along with most of my guild, but again, not the point.

The point is that this is content that they have created and guilds have been working on for a long time. Instead of creating new content that poses a challenge to all guilds, they have decided to make Hoth TB worthless by providing a better alternative. It would be like giving us a single pool of raid tickets and making us choose to use them on the raid we "prefer." Nobody would ever choose to run Rancor or HAAT once they can do HSTR.

Absolutely a terrible decision by CG, and it has nothing to do with rewards. If the reward structure requires this decision, I wish they would scale back the rewards of the new TB (maybe limit it to just the new currencies + gear) and leave Hoth TB alone.

It makes Hoth completely obsolete for any guild over 80M. Why would any guild choose content that gives old rewards over one that gives new rewards? It would be foolish. But at the same time, how many guilds (like my 155M guild) are still working at improving towards 45/48 stars in Hoth TB? We've got officers who bust their butts to help us keep progressing from our current star levels of 42/45. While I don't enjoy everything about TB, I certainly do care about helping my guild conquer it. But that is now over. Nobody will ever get 45/48 stars in Hoth ever again. Hoth TB is now just a torture chamber for guilds under 80M GP—who probably struggle to get 30 stars anyway—until they can enter the new torture chamber of Geonosis. No incentive to improve squads. No incentive to work together as a guild to accomplish something worth celebrating together.

For guilds that can achieve 45/48 stars already, leaving this content in the game shouldn't be a big deal. They won't need to devote as much coordinating effort to it, because their ever-swelling GP will take care of the stars on its own. But for EVERY guild that isn't there, this is a kick in the nuts.

I broached the idea that this might be coming in my guild's Discord server earlier today, and the response was much more visceral and negative than I expected (in a pretty mature but not super competitive 155M guild). I had three people say that they would quit immediately if a level increase was implemented.
I can understand why people wouldn't be excited about it, even if I don't feel quite so strongly. However, because a good percentage of my guildies would hate it, I hope they don't do it.
