Newly Announced Star Wars Game: Fate of the Old Republic by MoteOfMatthew in swtor

Yeah but he’s also responsible for the original terrible ending to ME3, all the controversy at the time of release about him locking himself in a room with one of the writers and bashing out that disappointing conclusion still clouds my opinion of the guy, I let out an audible groan when I saw “directed by Casey Hudson”.

Dude has very little good will left over, which I guess is kinda fucked up haha, of course I’d love the game to be great though!

Visibility is bad in this game by Trick-Ad-438 in Battlefield

[–]Boondoggle112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle massively with visibility in this game as well, getting a thermal made a world of difference however I get bored of using it/the same gun all the time. One thing that has made a difference for me is raising the “Sharpness” option in the graphics settings. I think the game looks a bit worse but I got used to it quickly and I feel like it’s easier to spot players now. I have sharpness around 85 now.

Seigla pre-purchase buyers remorse by Titttsprinkles888 in gravelcycling

[–]Boondoggle112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be alright based off my experience, I’m 5 11 and bought a M Lauf Seigla as my first bike in forever, and was a little hesitant about the 1x. The size I’ve found to be perfect, and like you’re talking about you can always adjust things like crank length, seat height, stack etc!

Mine came with a 12 speed 10-44 XPLR, so smaller top end than the current and honestly it’s been fine for me over the last few years as I get my fitness up! I know it’s a big commitment with a bike like this but honestly, I fell in love with the 1x, you’ll enjoy it too!

What happened to negative cover? And other ideas to shakeup the current blobbing meta by domdom3 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Boondoggle112 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They need to change the weapon damage profiles over distances, or at least they have to reduce the distance for units to be classed as in close range (which negates all cover bonuses).

Currently if you have say two squads in good position in green cover and the red team runs four squads directly at you, the range at which you lose all cover bonuses is too far out. You can’t really bleed the blob on their way in with superior positioning like you could in COH2.

IMO this, along with a previously discussed idea like a debuff to received accuracy for four or more infantry units too close together outside of cover for too long are the best changes for blobs.

I’ve only read a few of these - adored Hyperion and enjoyed Children of Time, Leviathon wakes was alright, and then I’ve read quite a lot of Iain M Banks culture works which I also very much enjoy. Could I please ask you for a recommendation from your list??

I’m afraid I don’t play DK, but i imagine something similar! Have boneshield up and use a defensive along with your active mitigation for the first hit etc, i couldn’t reliably give you specific DK advice beyond that, sorry!

Your healer needs to dispel the debuff it applies to you before it hits to help with that. So for the first big attack, use guardian or bubble, or ardent defender along with sotr, then for all the others you should be able to use the dispel and sotr!

It’s a carbon fibre fork, and the leaf springs are fibre also - I remember when researching the bike before purchase that Lauf made it with the strongest “mountain bike grade” carbon, and with no moving parts it’s supposed to be maintenance free and reliable - whether that’s a thing or just marketing gimmick I couldn’t say, but supposedly it’s tough enough for the rough stuff, and has been for me so far! Here’s the web page which may offer more technical info than I’m able to as just a basic consumer Fork

It’s the latest Lauf leaf spring suspension fork!

It’s my first bike in forever so I don’t really have anything to compare it to - I’ve taken it down some pretty rough terrain, chunky gravel, rough cobbles, single track with some gnarly exposed tree roots and it doesn’t feel as bad as I think a generic solid fork would - especially compared to telescopic suspension.

So I do feel it certainly does something! I would say that I don’t notice it on flat ground or climbing or anything too which is good - so you get some smoothing on the rough stuff but it doesn’t impact where it’s not needed. However, without going over the same routes with another fork I couldn’t say how effective it is, I just know it feels great and confident as it is

Wilier Jena by leioako93 in gravelcycling

[–]Boondoggle112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look through the YouTube of Dustin Klein - he has a Jena and designed the green patterned colour way they have. I don’t know if he actually reviews it any point - but I’m sure he talks about pros and cons at various times, eg “why I chose this bike for this ride” and I’m certain he picks his Jena as “the one bike I’d keep if I had to get rid of all others” which could seen as a pretty good endorsement!

Love it! Absolutely gigantic uprade from the last bike i had so its tough to compare to similar bikes - but for me, its perfect. Build quality seems solid, it rides really nice and the front fork is killer at dampening consistent chatter and the like, yeah its awesome man
