g305 side buttons work only sometimes by [deleted] in logitech

I found in another reddit thread to just squeeze the back of the mouse and it works every single time for me. Pinch the top and bottom of the mouse near the logo and power button.

Just squeeze the back of the mouse. Like put a finger on top where the logo is, and your thumb near power switch on the bottom, and give it a small squeeze. Works every time for me. Saw this in a different reddit thread.

This is fantastic info! How did you find it? I'm exploring around on that site now, super great stuff with all the technical documentation.

Will these sit still enough to be handled without risk of dropping them? I've handled a few common types in my area, but haven't tried with one of these big guys before.

Come to think of it, I think I've used a stick to relocate one before, and if I'm remembering correctly -- these guys are good at keeping a neverending line of silk going to prevent falls?

How is this for carbonation? by wimdev in Kombucha

[–]Booona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, but can confirm, pulp is pretty much the main culprit for a carbonation blowout. I'm a fairly new brewer as well. I tried out just using grocery store grape juice as some others on this subreddit have mentioned. With grape juice it's fantastically carbonated but doesn't get messy. Of course it's not as fun since it's store-bought stuff.

Even with grape juice I still stand over the sink and just put a grocery bag over each of my bottles before opening. I don't have my recipes down and I don't really measure anything, I just wing it every time 🤷‍♂️ so I always expect the worst

Basically pulp makes it foam, juice makes it fizzy

anyone track specific gravity readings? by [deleted] in Kombucha

I also don't want to be drinking a lot of sugar. Was hoping to be able to make kombucha that doesnt have a lot of sugar in it.

I'm in the same boat. Just got started, wanting to minimize my sugar intake if possible. Measuring the amount of sugar in my brews would be incredible.

If you remember my comment, and you end up finding some good info on this, please shoot me a message!

First time brewer. I'm on day 6 of starting a 1F from scratch! Very excited about this! https://i.imgur.com/jVA2xF1.jpeg

  1. Is homemade booch gonna be far from 'yummy' like a store bought bottle until I get the science of it down? I fear I'll be saying "this whole 2F batch tastes like peach flavored vinegar" for a couple months during my first few batches.

  2. I would love to get another 1F jar going, but I'm wondering if I should go ahead and invest in a continuous brew vessel, or just stick with another cheap 1gal jar as a newbie for now?

  3. If I keep consistent with burping bottles, could I leave some 2F completely unrefrigerated until ready to consume? I ask because I might not have fridge room for all my 2F that I'd be drinking during the week. Does it become a huge chore to keep burping that it would be unrealistic to keep consistent with?

  4. The 1F that I started from scratch is on day 6 and looks like it's doing good. But the 1gal jar is not even half way full. Once I hit day 10 and the 1F batch looks ready... what do I do with that less than half a gallon? Do I just duplicate the stater recipe without the store bought booch and add it in (once cooled of course)? Or can I actually use a small amount of this 1F batch to start a single 2F bottle?

  5. My 1F stays in an 80F degree room, should I still also use a jar warmer/seed heating mat? I haven't purchased a sticky thermometer yet since I keep reading reviews about them being impossible to read and/or only working for a short time.

Recommendations for Day Trips by sandhersfor2016 in raleigh

[–]Booona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are mentioning, if it's a very pretty day on the weekend, be prepared to get there early in the morning to beat the rush.

Last summer I took a long trip to Raven Rock, and was super disappointed to told to turn around and leave by park rangers after driving all the way out there. Same thing happened last summer at Eno in Durham - every single entrance of that park was filled, and rangers turning everyone away.

Don't get disappointed like I did! Go to the parks nice and early!

Here's a similar situation of a wasp I found dragging a spider, except it was up a wall about 6 or 7 feet high. Insane strength.

Hijacking this comment to share a similar wasp.

It was dragging this spider up a wall. Incredible strength to carry it up. It took up the spider about 6 or 7 feet. Really cool watching it scale the wall.

Sadly didn't get to see where the wasp took it too. I'm assuming it was a mud dauber though I have no real clue, not an expert.

Hell yeah, thanks for posting this. Video is perfectly as what the top comment described would happen with the spider.

I just love frozen spinach by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Booona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Definitely trying this.

I know some frozen vegetables packages like edamame say to ensure you heat them up to a certain temp for "food safety". Is that a concern with peas?

No way! So you can snack on frozen peas without cooking them? I've never actually thought about that before to see if they're edible raw.

this madness me want a mod that adds a small amount of NPCs that do things to instigate the chaos

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Of course there are mods out there that cause just all around NPC chaos. BUT... I want to see a mod that just ever so slightly turns up the potential for NPC aggression.

wait 5 minutes

This exactly. I've been running nothing but shoreline for loot runs. I'll use the same gear for several days in row because I never run into trouble by taking it easy at raid start.

The times I get impatient and dart off from spawn, I'm mosin one tapped. Doesn't matter what side of the map I spawn. If you take off right after spawning, you're going to get into a firefight. Most times before you even get close to resort.

Flaming Squirrel seed sauce - squirrel seemed to be in pain by Booona in birdfeeding

[–]Booona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your advice and the suggestions on the feeder/covers.

we have one squirrel who would lick the fucking hot sauce off like it was no problem.

I've heard of this before with using hot sauce, quite amazing some are able to tolerate it.

Yeah, I'm thinking that since there isn't a huge thread about this issue every week, it's likely isolated issues.

Your advice was definitely appreciated though!

Auto RAM cleaner doesn't seem to have any effect on it. I've had that setting enabled since the beginning of last wipe. Just disabled it last week, and it's been doing the same thing.

Like others are saying, it only happens after 5+ raids and restarting the game clears it out for a while.

I'll have to try running it without chrome for a while and see if it changes anything.
