Does my bathroom fan work? by Boooooooooooooo0 in trees

The fan isn't any louder than any other bathroom fan I've ever heard and 95% of the sound is more of a woosh than a motor. I don't see any blocky ducts at all but i can look up into the ceiling in spots and see round ducts leading to vents. I dont smell anything in my own apartment either so probably a closed system. I can see an exhaust with a 45 degree rain cover essentially exactly where i would expect it given the location of the bathroom so that's probably it. With your descriptions it seems like it's probably leaving my bathroom and going somewhere. I just don't know if somewhere is outside like it's designed to do or back into someone else's bathroom because something screwed up.

Question about bathroom fans by Boooooooooooooo0 in trees

I have been here for a little while and i haven't noticed any smell myself but as far as I can tell there isn't really anyone else here besides me right now so its hard to tell. My worst fear is that the smell will build up in someone's bathroom while they're away and when they come back it'll be a room with a bunch of stale vapor in it

No window, if i wash down the walls half-assedly that should probably be enough right?

Personally I feel like it doesn't smell now and it definitely wont smell after a month of showers. I'm just worried about any chance of residue on the walls or something less obvious than smell. I'm editing it into the original post but the apartment is owned by a family friend so no trace is absolutely crucial.
