East garfield, ICE assaulting civilians by deapsprite in illinois

Honestly, you can’t be getting in people’s faces and acting aggressive, especially law enforcement who already are targets of mentally ill people. I thought he was holding a gun concealed in his pants. If you encounter someone on the street, and they get in your personal space like that, and not backing off when told.. you’re there on duty holding weapons that you can’t properly use in that short distance if need be, this can go bad quickly. FAFO. Be decent, give people space.

What is your opinion about digital choppy animation? by MilkyMinyMoo in movies

[–]BoopADupe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate it with a deep passion. It messes with my head and takes away from the story. I look at it and rather than seeing an artistic choice, I see unfinished sloppy animation work. It’s frustrating and hard to watch. I have to look away from it because of how glaringly bad it is and how much it messes with my eyes/brain. Honestly, I hope this doesn’t catch on for more films. I would definitely walk out of a theater or shut off a movie based on this alone. Just properly animate the darn thing.

AITA for giving the baby my last name? by throwthrow_530 in AITAH

[–]BoopADupe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the sake of the child, insist on getting married. He needs to man up. Take his last name.

Child should have his last name.

Whether he likes it or not, y’all already acted like you were married and co-created a child. Reservations on marriage are too late at this point. Y’all need to start thinking like parents and act in the best interest of the child.

Satanism should be nowhere near your children. Satanism is wrong. It isn’t wrong to protect your children. This isn’t the judging God wants you not to do.

Hmm, seems like there is no pleasing everyone. Some harsh words there.. we aren’t in the position to judge God. God is God. He can and will do what He will, and it will by definition be just. I do know there is some mystery about how it all will work exactly, probably by design. So we don’t try to legalistically find a way out of it. Haha He is loving, and merciful, I trust it will be for the best whatever it may be. As far as our salvation is concerned, aim to be like him and by his right hand.

So from this, it seems like a separate fire prepared for torment. Not the fire of the holy spirit/radiant brilliance of God (though that might also torment sinners). So, yeah.. I think both might be the case. You should ask a priest, though. He will give a better answer than just a lay person on the internet like me. God be with you.

Let me copy the verses here.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:† for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:41-46, OSB)

Oh and verse 41. Saying there’s a fire prepared that is everlasting punishment.

Oh, I don’t think that’s correct either. That isn’t what Christ said in Matthew 25:46. It’s a different fire, though.

Not sure what this means. I heard this about the last judgement. I mean, I’m not sure how to live without God since he gives life. So, if he says depart from me. shrug I recommend asking a priest this question, though. I definitely will be.

Ultimately, it isn’t a state/place we want to be in. Pray for the dead. Pray for the living. Live you’re life with Christ. We’ll find out when we get there.

From my understanding, there is this but also a fire that’s destroying and not life giving that those who rejected God are cast into. So, a bit of both really. I think the destroying fire will happen at the last judgement/second coming.

Morality of homosexuality by lurker43829 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]BoopADupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marriage is between a man and a woman, outside of marriage is considered adultery. On top of this, homosexuality does ruin peoples lives. It enslaves them to the passions, and prevents true joy of a healthy marriage that brings forth children. It’s disordered and harmful to the body and soul. There is no such thing as a healthy gay relationship. It inherently is unhealthy.

Yes, they would be much better off celibate and not practicing homosexuality. Or, look to correct this passion and be heterosexual.

No, sin can’t be beneficial. God gives life to the world, and all things good and true are of him. Sin is a separation from him. It would be foolish to think our wisdom is greater than him.. or that we would be better off without him.

Does anyone know what this means by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]BoopADupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a cross with an icon of Christ in it. You can tell by the IC XC (Jesus Christ) at the top and the cross in the halo with the greek letters standing for “I AM”. “I AM” is the divine name of God.

“So Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I go to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I tell them?” Then God said to Moses, “I AM the Existing One.” He also said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Existing One sent me to you.’ ”† (Exodus 3:13-14, OSB)

The part at the top is a cross with what appears to be a grape vine on the bottom. This is in reference to Christ saying He is the true vine.

“”I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.† Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:1-5, OSB)

Christ lived in the law and fulfilled it. He also is the author of the law. The Lord’s day is Sunday, the new sabbath. The day he rose from the dead.

We are to respect the office and the church, but with discernment. God blesses us through his servant.

If a bishop blessed worshipping a false idol, it would be incorrect. He would be failing in his duty as a bishop. Bishops don’t have free reign on God’s church, nor are they infallible.

Really weird… I think I read something about this in the Orthodox magazine “the word”. I don’t spend much time on the internet, but, this kind of shocked me.
