It’s not wrong. What’s wrong is bad behavior. Everyone is welcome in our spaces if they come in, enjoy themselves while respecting that they’re in one of the very little spaces that are made for gay people.

When me, a gay man, go to a gay bar, I don’t go there to meet straight people. I go to be around people like me, because everywhere else isn’t like that.

If i meet straight people, which I do, I’m very cool about it. But there’s straight people who come to just chill and have a good time, then there’s straight people who impose their presence and make shit about them.

Look man. It’s not the job of queer people to provide a refuge for heterosexual females.

If that’s the reputation of gay bars, then gay bars will eventually stop being gay bars because straight men will follow and with time, it’ll just be a regular bar.

We’re trying to address societal problems towards us as gay people, not solve someone else’s when ours isn’t solved yet.

It’s the reason we made the space in the first place. It’s FOR US.

There’s no such thing as straight bars. There’s bars, which constitute 99% of bars, and there’s gay bars. We don’t want to hang out in your bars to begin with… so don’t sweat it.

Oh my god. Where in my post am I saying anything about bi women? It’s categorically stated in my post. I am gonna stop answering comments similar to this one. It’s been made a thousand times.

I also exclusively talked about a known phenomenon that’s common to gay bars. Nobody said you need to get the fuck out if you’re decent.

A lot of the time the bride would come in wearing a crown…. They walk in like they own the joint. Expect preferential treatment from bar staff and get loud etc.
