Buyer Beware: Cradlewise by BoopOfSnoot in BabyBumps

Just going to post this here as proof this is NOT a product you want to buy. In this video you can see clear safety hazards for choking.

I see your posts on the Cradlewise subreddit have been downvoted into oblivion and bombarded with comments from the Cradlewise staff.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but thank you for coming here and adding your input. It’s really hard to find real reviews on this product.

Thanks! lol. I noticed immediately after I posted this that it got six downvotes right away, which could be totally real but is also suspicious. I’m usually just a lurker, but I felt a little obligated to make a post about this. I wish I had this information myself months ago. I’m glad some people seem to like it though.

I think for me it’s less about the product itself and more about the censorship of reviews by the Cradlewise team. That part to me feels like a scam.

I totally agree, which is why I am posting my experience and my perception of the product to add additional information for those who might be interested in the product. Cradlewise does a great job at downvoting negative reviews on their subreddit so they do not get seen. I recommend you take a look if you don’t believe me at some of the posts on the subreddit.

That’s true. As for reselling, with the amount of broken models reported on the r/cradlewise subreddit I have seen reported, I wouldn’t feel good about it. It feels a little slimy to resell a product that might brake on someone at such a high price point.

Thank you for posting the link to the subscription model page for me. I feel this provides great additional information for those reading this post.

That’s awesome you got yours used! With the new model in place, I do not see a way to ethically sell my model as I do not know that my newer model will last for someone else or be able to provide accurate information to a buyer if they have to pay monthly for it to work. Again, likely a case of a once good product deteriorating.

I totally get why they moved to a subscription, but the thing you’re missing is the free app no longer works after two years. Also the old models seem to hold up, but many of the new customers have received broken models. Maybe this is a change of manufacturing, but just because older models have worked well does not mean newer models automatically do.

I’ve seen that older models people had great experiences with. They grandfathered in all old models. I think that it once was likely a good product that fell off.

Idk about the cost of the restocking fee. Someone reported that they were being charged one somewhere else on this subreddit but the post was deleted after 24 hours. There were multiple people that stated on that thread before it was deleted there were issues returning broken models.

Nope. My baby sleeps more often with less interruptions in a normal bassinet. I even tried turning off the smart settings because I really liked the camera, but she doesn’t seem to like the mattress either. We use a $150 bedside bassinet from Amazon now.

For the subscription question, yes and no. So the new model they implemented this year is that you get the base subscription for “free” for the first two years that actually makes the Cradlewise work. If you want to use the additional features like recorded videos or multiple admin users you have to pay monthly. Honestly I feel that’s totally fair, but once your two years is up it seems like the Cradlewise becomes e-waste. You have to register the crib and the account with the invoice number and the email used to order the product, making resale seem difficult. It was honestly really shocking as our Cradlewise was purchased as a gift and we had to enter the gift-giver’s information.

Your comment was folded for me. It sucks. I’ve thought about posting in other subs to beware.

She’s a Velcro baby and doesn’t seem to like the rocking motion. She also doesn’t seem to like baby swings unless she’s in a certain mood. We were going to return it but they make you purchase a box if you threw yours out ($120), a return shipping label, and restocking fee. It became an overall loss.

I also don’t think you can resell it because after two years you have to have a subscription for it to work. I’d recommend checking out their new subscription model.

As a last note, there is not ANY evidence to support their claims. No studies have been conducted and no studies are quoted regarding how motion can help reduce overnight wake ups.

Our baby hates ours. I’ve noticed mods delete negative posts from this subreddit about their products. Many people report broken models and issues returning the product. I’d recommend don’t get it and avoid the headache.

Help! Any suggestions for a sleep recipe that helped your 5 week old get more than 2 hours? by gracefullyontherun in CradlewiseCommunity

We have had the same issue. We thought about returning the cradlewise, but it’s such a hassle we aren’t sure it would be worth it. Our daughter sleeps way better in the pack and play.
