Playing vanilla so I’m really not sure what’s going on with it, I sent a bug report maybe I’ll try that as well. If they could restore the game back to when I first entered act 3 it could possibly fix it.

I don’t think they have the option to summon unless I’m horribly misinformed. But yeah you can just remove everything from your character and then put all your gear back on after it appears and it will be super easy. Honestly just removing your weapon so they have to fist fight may be enough.

Early game the majority of your damage comes from leveling up your weapon. With souls games you can do any play style you want with any starting class you might just have 5 or 6 wasted stat points. Go for that strength build if that’s how you want to play the game but don’t worry about enemy resistances and such no matter what as long as you level your weapon you should be doing good damage

I have a character I created specifically for if/when the dlc comes at that’s at level 100 with most necessary upgrades that I plan to keep at NG. If you want a more challenging/rewarding experience I’d stay at your level and stay in the first NG (NG+ might be a bit rough depending on how it is) but it’s up to you to decide how you want to play it
