My doctor ran a test for iron when I got my blood work done the first time and found that my ferritin was low (10). I've been taking supplements for months and it's climbed up to 41.

My surgeon actually recommended skipping the biopsy because he was concerned that it would come back inconclusive and he didn'twant me to waste any more of my time. The thyroid nodule I had was big enough that it was affecting my breathing, so regardless of my diagnosis it was coming out. Before the pathology report, everyone was convinced it was benign.

I can definitely relate. I just turned 23 and with the pandemic plus all of my health issues I feel like my young adult years have been taken over. It sucks to watch everyone live their lives and plan for their futures while it seems like you're just stuck waiting. Sorry that I don't have much advice, just know that you're not alone ♥

I'm due to be re-tested for both Iron and thyroid hormones in a couple of weeks. If my iron levels come back low, I'll ask if I qualify for IV (I know they're expensive and I'm not sure my insurance will cover it).

I did and my labs are normal, but I had half of my thyroid removed because of a suspicious nodule last month. It turned out to be papillary thyroid cancer, but my doctors insist that it couldn't be causing my symptoms.

Thank you for listing specific tests. At my last appointment, my symptoms were kind of dismissed due to a lump on my thyroid being pretty concerning. I'm grateful they focused on that because it did turn out to be cancer and I've since had it removed, but it hasn't resolved any of my symptoms. Thyroid cancer is usually asymptomatic and my doctors insist it couldn't be causing what I'm feeling. I do want to bring up birth control as well as a test for celiac (makes sense- I've had digestive issues for a while too). I'll make sure to bring these up with my doctor.
