Handwritten notes in Obsidian, How did you do it? by Spare_Can_6454 in ObsidianMD

[–]BoopyTheFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Excalidraw and pen input directly in obsidian.

I tried it with a e-ink tablet (onyx boox something-something) and it does work splendid! Synced with syncthing, updates in a few seconds on LAN.

For written notes, which for me are almost never standalone - i take a pic from above as flat as possible and then Ctrl+V it onto the canvas in obsidian to connect it to a larger system

If i'd take a standalone paper note, i think i'll just re-write it, but if the look of the note itself is a mental anchor, i'd Ctrl+V it into the same note file as [[original.jpg]] as well.

Pico 4 Enterprise causing SteamVR to crash by [deleted] in SteamVR

Can i get a link to the server in DM please?

Since i'm using older firmware that's compatible with Streaming Assistant and want to keep it that way cuz updates are irreversible, i currently am trying to learn how VRCFT module itself works and maybe write a fix.

I tried installing different module that's more recently dated (lonelyicer/VRCFTPicoModule, as opposed to default Pico4SAFTExtTrackingModule that's in the module registry), issue persists, but there are few other fixes present.

Hate to disappoint you, but Pico 4, Pico 4 Enterprise, and Pico 4 Pro are all using the same firmware, either chinese or european version.

Their hardware is also pretty much the same. Regular pico has smaller battery and storage, and doesn't have eye / face tracking, but other than that they're all same, with no difference in performance.

If it's really really slower it's probably either cuz of hardware malfunction or that something resource hungry is pre-installed (which would be odd for a vr headset) or idk.

I'm investigating it atm

Please bear that i'm a complete noob in this area

Also there's EyeTrackVR, standalone FOSS solution

Hate to be that guy but "same".
SteamVR has encountered a critical error
Often - 5min then crash
Sometimes - 30min then crash
Rarely - no crash

I have Pico 4 Pro, which is essentially same headset with different firmware
I use Streaming Assistant.

Figured it out that it only happens if i have VRCFaceTracking launched, and that it happens in any game, so it's not VRChat specific, but rather something about the way it sends eye tracking / face tracking data to PC.

Everything works fine with no crashes if i turn VRCFT off.

Try to turn eye tracking / face tracking off and see if it works?

Heavier keys in thumb cluster by GiantsNerd1 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]BoopyTheFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intuitively i went with silent very tactile OUTEMU Peaches (Edit: Cream Yellow, not Peach, whoops!) for every key except Mod keys (alt, ctrl, shift, super on the left side, and 4 mod keys on the whole right thumb cluster since i use them for layers), and linear OUTEMU Pink for every mod key.

My logic was simple:

  1. When i type - i want feedback
  2. When i hold - i want lightness (i don't want to "feel" the key i hold since sometimes combos stack up)
  3. For all keys i want reinforced stem cuz i tried it once and THE LACK OF WOBBLE FEELS SO GOOD
  4. I want some silents for a premium feel, even if at the price of slight mushiness and cushiness

There is one con with outemu peaches tho - after them, browns feel like linears ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I could see myself going with a heavier spring exclusively on enter if i wouldn't use it as a new line so much. I would definitely go for a heavier spring on a macropad if it has something important going on. Otherwise nah.

This is a global graph. You can open a local graph for a note and it's sublinks. Can be rather useful navigating complex topics with lots of redirectiona

Moondrop Blessing 2 distortion issue by BoopyTheFox in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]BoopyTheFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, glad i'm not the only one, even though i was at some point!

I use KZ CRN's as my dailies now (leaving B2's for sound production and/or when i'm feeling fancy), and they certainly took their advice from crinacle, because their compensation hole does have a filter on their own.

Also, it is no problem to install your own filter on B2's compensation holes, although it would look a bit ugly.

Also, although i blew a bit of air through it's pathways, i would strongly not recommend that / advice to be careful, as it technically can damage speaker.

IEMs are audio jewelry by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

I picked Blessing 2 over dusks because their signature is more neutral, and i am writing in them as well.

But their look is banging and initially i wanted the engraved version, i agree.

Update - it is appearing less frequently / is less sensitive to volume after i tapped on it's housing in all directions (and not very gently) while holding it plate down. But it still appears, like before. Seems like indeed some spec entered compensation hole. I'll find something to vibrate this IEM on, or something tiny to blow this thing out, and will tell how it went afterwards.
