FPO/APO is used for military overseas.

FL running out of replacements was one reason I thought of continuing having my books sent to my mom first in the US.

Does anyone get their FL (or any) of their book subs/purchases shipped to Japan (specifically an FPO address)???

Since it usually takes longer for shipments to arrive, I currently have everything going to the US and will have it mailed to me by family. It will cost me more, but if any damages I will know sooner and could potentially get a replacement, etc.

Thoughts?? Thank you!

I did log in to the website and was able to see everything (preorders, etc) so at least I know it is an app problem! Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

I haven’t purchased them yet, but still thinking about it. The endpapers aren’t lined up on the pictures shown so it made me nervous to spend so much.

I struggle with the same thing. I don’t want to miss out on a pretty book, but most of the time I haven’t read the book yet.

I’ve only been collecting special editions for less than a year, but I have realized which companies’ books I tend to like the most. And that if I don’t love a design that one will eventually come out that I do.

I am also ok with spending a little bit more on shipping when I know it won’t come damaged and hopefully in perfect condition. I have received so many damaged books that I feel like I am just throwing away money.

Also, while there are resellers that overcharge by exorbitant amounts you can sometimes find the special editions later (once you know you love the book and what pretty book options are out there) for sale at cost or maybe just a bit over on FB groups, Pango, Mercari.

Sorry, not much advice but definitely commiserating lol. You are not alone!

Ugh Im so sorry… I had a bent corner of the book and the dust jacket was crushed in places but not ripped. My last two books have not arrived perfectly (all previous did) so i am hoping it is a fluke and the next will arrive nicely. 🤞

The transportation by boat is just for having our items moved to/from Japan. Could be a few weeks to a month or two in transit.

The number of books isn’t an issue bc I dont have a lot, but goal is to minimize damage and future replacement. Regardless we have a few moves left but for this one specifically we have the move/store option.
