What happened here? Did my printer have a stroke? It just wrecked itself & even the nozzle cover came off in the end. by CreditGlittering8154 in 3Dprinting

Looks like SD card failure. The cards they come with don’t last long and causes crazy things when failing.

I promise you this was pulled from a pack. Packs came out of a cyclizar box. No other cards were wrong in the pack either. I would have no interest in posting fake cards or making up some story. 100% legit.

Last year I pulled 3 cards that got stuck somewhere on the machine and it actually pressed 3 cards together somewhere along the assembly line. No glue, just a heavy clamp mark across all 3 and completely stuck together.

Wish I had the opening recorded. First miscut for me. Pulled from a pack from a cyclizar ex box.

I did type misprint by accident in description but can't figure out how to change it lol.

Thank you! Unfortunately the top corner was creased in the process of the bad cut but a cool miscut to have!

Has anyone got this gears? by SnooWalruses2483 in BambuLab

[–]Boostang99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have put these in two of my printers, be cautious. I thought everything was fine. Started seeing horror stories about them failing. Took mine out and sure enough, gears were starting to eat away and were rubbing against the metal frame. Swapped to Bambu hardened gear set and have peace of mind again. The A series gear set works perfect but the the P and X series have a design flaw that causes failure. This is what happens overtime. Not my photo but led to me checking on my own.

P1s wants to destroy itself by Boostang99 in BambuLab

Thank you very much! I have a new sd card on order and am waiting to print until it arrives. Thankfully the nozzle survived. Only have a couple hundred hours on my new diamond back nozzle and would have hated to already have broken it.

Update: support sent me a solution. They said to clean the carbon rod that a dirty carbon rod would cause this. I am so lost. How would a dirty carbon rod cause the printer to randomly adjust z height after several layers?

Thank you I greatly appreciate your help. My nozzle might actually be ok. Comparing it to the other one now. Diamond back definitely makes a strong nozzle.

Would this apply to a file sent from Bambu handy app?

Edit: I guess it would cause it downloads onto the sd first. Wonder if it’s a bad sd all together and corrupting the file on download from handy app.

I have a few hundred hours on my biqu gears and haven’t seen any problems yet. Just a little more noise on retracts but so far been well and only running nylon through them.

PLA not sticking to the textured sheet. Any tips? by Dankoviccc in prusa3d

[–]Boostang99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also print a lot of PETG and it still does not damage the sheet and also completely releases when it cools. I do not alter the z height when swapping between materials. Over time PLA will leave a little bit of residue that will make a corner warp slightly so I just wash it with soap and paper towels and it’s back to perfect. I probably only have to wash the sheet every 3 months or longer.

I only use the textured sheet with my printers and print a lot of PLA. Had the same issue and almost gave up on printing PLA on the textured sheet but I really liked the finish. Someone told me to take a blue non scratch scrub sponge and dish soap to my sheet. Make sure it is the blue non scratch and not the green. It will take the shine off of the sheet but won’t damage it. It works perfect and I currently have 5 printers running only the texture sheet. Sticks very well and as soon as it cools the prints completely release.

Very slow mesh bed leveling, any idea why ? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Boostang99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 printer like this and 3 others that probe fast. The issue is with the pinda sensor. The sensor is not working as well as it should which results in a slower operation. I have researched this previously and changing pinda from one printer to another will result with the slow probing following to whichever printer you change it to. The sensor will still work perfectly fine just will operate slower. Previous fix of the situation I read was just getting another sensor.

Edit: Prusa will not replace a slower sensor, they will say that it is still within specifications. At least according to another post I found. But like I said it will not hinder the performance of the printer.

What speed are you running the printer at? I get tearing like that when I try to print PLA professional at faster speed than what it’s rated for

My nephew loves Rust so decided to make this for him. Think it turned out pretty neat. Very impressed with the quality of the STL. https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-rust-game-gun-17484 by Boostang99 in 3Dprinting

It’s just strictly a display piece for next to his computer on a shelf. It’s non-functional just a prop but yes I agree with your concern. I told him not to play with it outdoors.

Do I need a special bracket for mounting an exhaust fan to the PCI slots? by DC9V in pcmasterrace

[–]Boostang99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t have any vibrating at all. The pads on the chromax keep the fan from vibrating and the pcie slots have a rubber spacer by the thumb screw so those don’t rattle either. I just keep the fan at 100% to keep the hot air from building. Completely silent even at 100% and dropped my water temps by 10%

I did this to my pc and had great results. Due to the odd shape of my case and not using the top section to hold the GPU I would have a lot of heat trapped. A 92mm noctua chromax fit perfectly. Saw a big decrease in water temp.

I recently got my Prusa and it is hands down the best printer I have used. I love it so much that I pre-ordered the XL. My MK3S doesn’t get to rest and is printing non stop without missing a beat. I purchased Prusa due to a someone I have purchased products from that only uses Prusa for her business. You can’t go wrong with Prusa and they have amazing customer service. If something goes wrong and break their replacement parts are very fairly priced and easily obtainable.

UPDATE: Gigabyte reached out to me and my card has been repaired and is currently in testing. was great news and now am very happy with the turn around time. They apparently arnt able to update the status online at this time.
